  1. I love that you got that Mark Hammil Jack in the Box. I posted the other day when they offered the freebie that I got one and traded it to the LCS, but that sig and book was living the dream a couple of years ago or it was on enough minds to do so and where our heads were at @Landon I'm a bit flummoxed but grateful that you got a 7.5 because it came in like a flimsy polybag only and or I don't remember an envelope, but it might have had that too for postage to adhere. In short mine was 7.5 raw, and I don't imagine much better and if you have the highest-grade SS? then a sigh of relief Did you have it pressed at all?
  2. I don't know the cost of that particular artist, but wouldn't think or I'd hazard a guess of $30 or under but don't really know, the cost of cgc is listed at cgccomics.com. A facilitator will charge like $10 or $5 to witness, which is the onky fixed cost I can present you, but that is normal and the same nominal fee they add if cracking a yellow label slab to add signatures. For future reference. @Pixarlover273
  3. Adding in the cost to grade wouldn't improve your ratio of profit though is what I mean
  4. @MAR1979 might have focused in on them for a while, I don't think grading will make too much difference in that they will take a while to sell, $10 a piece is usually the tipping point when I've seen them for sale and next time they're missing and I guess sold. I'm not up on the market other than they sell, but idk to whom nor why but then again they have a niche
  5. Since others are posting cards and stuff as well, here is some more that got delivered 1) Darth Vader 2022 blue refractor 2) "Collect What You Love" CGC shirt 3) FCBD Slab to add for 2024 to the registry after the freeze for awards 4) CGC Swag 5) CGC place mat
  6. @Pixarlover273 I did this at NYCC last year - it was a bit of hassle getting the witness, but I think that was due to just the number of people waiting - but the witness didn't take the book for the paperwork - at least at NYCC, the witness did the witnessing, then they sealed the book in a 'tamper proof' bag and gave it back to you, and it was up to you to follow up at the CGC booth afterwards to do the paperwork. If this is how your show goes, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the line at the CGC booth - I spent over an hour just in line to get the paperwork done. But again, I think NYCC may just be a different beast, so they may have different protocols at different cons. Good luck! it's super fun to go and meet & chat with the signer, and I've sent in a bunch of books for OneStop - they're great. I agree, mechanics and so on aren't always figured out until "at the con", as some are different. The last one I went to CGC didn't even attend, so the facilitator had to do "all of the process" It is kind of a loaded question, harmless, but Lord Willing we described the process, so they'll have a point of reference haha One of those things that seems daunting until you've done it a couple of times, even just regularly sending books into CGC was like that for me, used to use the LCS until I got the noive!
  7. At comic con choose a CGC booth or a Facilitator to have the autograph witnessed, so you'd ask them to come over when the person is about to sign, they witness it, and THEY carry the book back to their booth to fill out the paperwork. I would think that a witness sig, which is a regular yellow label, would be sought after more than a JSA yellow label. Witnessed signature is the regular process for that, JSA is where you have an unwitnessed signature, and they analyze it at CGC and critique whether they "think it is authentic." Which mistakes "can happen." Look up what facilitators or if CGC will be at your Comic-Con, and you might email them before hand at whatever website they have, and I'm sure that even customer service at CGC's phone number "might" be able to hammer details out for you, but again, most of this will all be sorted and happen the day of the con. Just to get your bearings and to know how to handle it. I've given a summary of things to do, ball in your court Cheers and have fun!
  8. Collect how you want and is available to you, as not anyone of older or younger has the same opportunity as any other of the same age group or opposite. There are experience points and character, beyond that isn't a learning curve save to do the best you can with what you have and know.
  9. Lol I'm from 1981 neither post really bothered me, it only made me wonder when I will have these feelings but
  10. Maybe @nepatkm has, but again 🧐 🆒 nice grab!
  11. On your phone you may not be able to see your post count until you go to your profile page, on the tablet or laptop it should be just under your avatar when you post. So to clarify, here are two of my posts to respond however to get up to 50+ and unlock the seller section. Cheers and bless you for wanting to support kids even in higher education, as funny books are good to read as well, maybe slabbing or etc will find you a new hobby or purpose when all is paid for? 🙏
  12. I'll give you a quote to respond. As we have a new poster 50 post required to use the sales board here. I wanted to tell you so as to not surprise , we had 0 post spammers private messaging people among other low post count boardies that would scam or burn bridges some other way. You seem cheerful and not at all sly, so I say it for your piece of mind to not take it the wrong way. Who knows maybe you'll get the collecting bug again and hang around. Anyway glad you kept some books from a while ago, idk about college payments having paid a few myself , but it should be lighter weight somehow if turned to cash instead after such a long time away. Anyway welcome back and welcome to the boards.
  13. I have no idea, but when I looked 9,8 sold for $100 or thereabouts, perhaps it is a hopeful prospect at least for those selling I bought I think a nearby issue of the 1st madcap, and I'm still wondering why haha, but I enjoyed the character back when I read Deadpool. Was there a reason this one caught your eye to begin with? Were you after it but then noticed the tag? Or from out of nowhere?
  14. And it came on the weekend after July 4th holiday. Kind of nail biting in itself, glad it worked out though!
  15. https://www.comiccollectorlive.com/LiveData/StoryArc.aspx?id=12a973e0-06cb-41b4-b68b-bbdcb5d423f3 Awesome. I was just curious 🧐 🤨 Just by Google that crime suspense #23 has been homage several times since 2003, or after death of sabertooth, which I guess is like only the third or fourth itself that homages the suspense cover.
  16. Idk they still did those homages every once in a while, was the last one of these the death of sabretooth (Wolverine 55 🤔 I think) ? Or have there been many others?
  17. Oh I would think it is fine, I was just generally curious is all. I was typing about newsstands earlier in the registry, and I was noticing that there is other newsstand material in print but not comics. It got me analyzing what those were and when you posted Eminem I thought it had been a while since I saw him on a cover
  18. Yeah, the one where I found a comic version of the one you had, that came out before all the other darksiders books, the one I have got wrecked in the mail tho sadly so im looking on that one ah THAT is unfortunate...
  19. Yes! Made by Telltale games, They also made the Wolf Among Us, which is based in the Fables comics! So I got the Fables#1 in there which is 1st Snow and Big B which are the main characters of the game. And the Sequel game is coming soon actually! Wondered that myself with the fables, and did you ever decide on "darksiders?"
  20. ok mine has one of those but mine is in the middle of the book that almost looks as though it is being "folded", and the book in the slab is not flat but has an arc to it. I don't blame your concerns given recent admissions, I think it is still a 9.8, but reflects bad on cgc more than anything "They gave that 9.8?" When we know it "was" but how do we now "look at it?" and if it isn't the arc of the book in the inner well and yours is flat? then what is it?
