  1. I do feel like At least some Hughes books have started to rise in the past couple of months. Not everything, for sure, but I see upward movement on the “big” Hughes books, like Catwoman 51 and 74, Harley Quinn 1, Teen Titans 75, Zatanna 15 and 16, etc. I also think “tough” books in CGC 9.8 are climbing - Legionnaires 16 DCU variant, Sable 19, Chassis 1, Stargrazers 1, etc. I tried looking up the "DIRTY PAIR" Hughes/Stevens/PlanetComics homage cover #1, and bupkiss in rise... If it is a flash in the pan, isn't it usually all boats and really quick? I might be optimistic, but at current prices I wouldn't be able to "replace" so will still probably hold, but "who knows!?!"
  2. I agree! Of the 3 I own of the 4, Marvel Premiere was the last for me to obtain, too, so grain of salt all around!
  3. Also, I'd be curious by what you mean by would "prefer silver age?" If you mean he offers more in trade in, it could be as simple as they've been around long enough in market trends that it seems a more trusted seller.
  4. is the question ""I would rather" of the 4? Between the ages and in same value? I think this is what you're asking, but regardless it is just based on the book, as for the dealer on what sells, and which would give you a good idea on the market near you. I wonder if the market even differs based on location? I know it would in the 80's or 90's, with wizard and etc maybe not by much, or with the internet today idk either. that said, it would depend on the books between the ages that I had considered, then to my collection, and so on I own all those except number 4 the Captain Marvel Adventures, and I'd have to google why it is $tree-fiddy+ but that isn't something I've seen in the wild anyway!
  5. It is worth noting that the redemption is a newsstand, speaking of "confidence" in distribution
  6. My "opinion" only? It depends on the "reasons" for the run up, if it were movie and or media related, I'd say it wouldn't last.... If it is an artist reaching cult status to viewers or new viewers maybe, I'd look at the reason why, but if it is more nostalgia base it could end eventually too. Not that Michael Turner is in the same ballpark, although similarly for a while back in 2016 it too had a run up of variants and the like (if I remember, I was too new!), and idk that it is still the case for him rather than maybe signature series or "certain" covers. TBH I'm holding as I like the books, and Lord willing don't need to cash in, do I hope it stays this way? Maybe, as most of what I got I'm happy for, but was there more I'd have picked up? Definitely, but had the mindset to find them in the wild or otherwise cheaply to hold for a run up that would eventually come. I always figured the work stood for itself and might eventually stick with collectors, but as to this being that event? your guess is as good as mine, to get to my point
  7. Fresh and clean, this is what it reminded me of. nice frames too!
  8. I have yet to beat any gaiden. I still own it or whichever is on the Nintendo mini, and I can get to a train level. I haven't googled how far that is, I still have plenty of lives and continues left, but there i usually rage quit haha 😅 Just saying similarities 😉
  9. The only people that have beaten that game are people who lie about beating that game. Lol I've beaten it as a kid, probably not now, but I've also watched YouTube videos of those who can currently, but the sentiment is still there, I agree! I didn't have many games as a kid so I had to play one over and over, unless of course blockbuster had one that was good. That said it is the only NES game from my childhood that I've kept to this day
  10. All we need is a little patience guns n roses.
  11. And anyone else I missed, they checked back with the list of facilitators. This is for Fan Expo Dallas in June 2024. @TSwift25 @MultiSig Mike I know comicsketchart.com has a website, or I've used them before. They make good on "mistakes" within reason. Best of luck!

  13. He was amazing. Whatever happened to him, anyway? Is he still working? he wasn't so bad, emm err, compared to some inside comic art today.... I think this is him...
  14. The pm you received from mike has the link to the part of the forum where the contest will be held, it will be clickable later tonight I believe. After you click on it, bookmark that part of the forum, but in short it is the "SPARE A GRADE" forum.... so like on the main page where you can click to come to comics general, of copper of modern age? in that list is a spare a grade, it'll be held there Hey buddy, can you spare a grade? - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com) The instructions will be in the first post of every round and every round will have its own thread in that part of the forum It starts tonight 8pm Eastern So after you complete round 1, look out for round 2 and 3 and so on as the thread will be started in that part of the form, you'll have several days to get your grades in etc don't discuss books with others etc It may seem intimidating, BUT you'll make it out alright, just getting accustomed to it
  15. It's awesome regardless. Once I sold my "old" set of clubs to the boyfriend of one of my spouse's work colleagues. He had a hole-in-one during his first round playing with them on a local executive course. I've never had one with any set of clubs. My mother had two in her late 70s. I don't play golf, so not regular that it is worth saying that I don't play it. I had one on a par 3 as a teen and like one bet and winning in Vegas I quit to say I had doubled my money at the casino 😂 There was a ridge or cliff to our left, so instead of hitting on the fairway, I did what all teenagers new at an official course with there parents and best friend do, cut wise to the left as a noob. Playing through we went to find my ball and wound up at the hole with the people waiting in front of us whom had waited to snap a pic of whomever hit the hole in one. Idk if they played a trick on me but the husbands wife turned out to be a doctor, which added validity to this teenagers mind haha
  16. Lol that was my next venture for him, teach a man to fish and all that Glad you posted up though!
  17. I think if you look up modern certs or recent as end of last year or so, cgc has a scan under the cert number.... That is if I'm reading correctly that it is the "newer slabs" that are "hard to scan?
  18. I emailed a reply back to ask for the facilitators list so we'll see
