ASM 238 Appreciation/Club Thread
ADAMANTIUM replied to Paddy_McShillihan's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
ya that was it... I vaguely remember that we also had a real pogo with the stick spring as well. I've seen videos randomly of course where people do flips, mine where never that powerful even though I might have only weighed 110 pounds Ah childhood. The Lord remembers. Those toys were of a time, but right after the age of doing those well, kids where then getting bikes in a time-honored tradition, and that was all she wrote! -

Does anyone remember those pogo discs that looked like that in the 80's to early 90's? with an air bubble on top of the disc to hold with your feet that went through the disc and was bigger on the bottom to then "pogo-on?" Idk why I asked for that toy, more surprising is idk why my mother said yes! I can still hear her now, why do you want this? And the subsequent days of washing dishes with her staring out the window with the "pogo" on the porch, and me saying something like, "after we're done, I'll see if I can still do it!" Just to either prove a point or make her happy I forget which hahaha. Just to see her face and hear the "uh-huh!" but of course I did. Problem is, you didn't go "high nor was it very hard to do" and there weren't many "tricks" that you could do with it and etc. -

Unfortunate that it is only replacement cost of the book and not funds as well... With the extensive market of the past couple of years. Maybe a receipt helps prosecution with just how much damage the scammer caused? I can see it help investigation, but not sure how it deals with the cgc guarantee. Idk

I saw you post that elsewhere , awesome pickup!

I thought about trying to rotate that 90 degrees but it wouldn't work, and I think that is the point of the contest. Problem is the family member had socks, but they'd be too small for me. I plan on making a hand puppet or idk, just said to be wearing them and didn't say do it proper. I wear chuck Taylors anyway, or sandals would be equaling shaming.

Matthew Vaughn's ARGYLLE starring Henry Cavill (2024)
ADAMANTIUM replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Do you know how hard it is to find something Argyle at the last minute? Flannels yes, even checked a thrift store or two and was met with "we don't have an argyles section!" And "we only sell women's 2nd hand clothing" Found plaid even, but Argyle is pretty specific!- 27 replies

The thought is... Crack a slab enough to pull out inner well replace with other inner well from other slab, send in as reholder or mechanical errors, cgc not noticing the tamper or that book looks different than the assigned grade and going through with the reholder. Cgc essentially missed the tampering and was resealing it for the individual among other stuff, under the guise of reholders, even directs became Newsstand and etc things obvious that cgc missed

I shouldn't have called it "chump" change, in any "pr" funds that is still very generous given the impact and scope of things, I just do remain hopeful that it makes sense to the powers that be at CGC, but could be why they haven't made a blanket statement as to "compensation" and that maybe relying on the same word of mouth for those affected will be in good Faith. I hope anyway

They should do it in good faith to save face, it is exactly what a near million dollar to billion dollar company would do, given they're sticking to only tree fiddy books. That is chump change, the least they could do, provided you can prove it with a receipt and aren't just trying to take advantage. He didn't say no. that is all I'm saying. Some people didn't over pay and what other "case by case basis" would there be? Why wouldn't he just state replacement cost then?
