  1. Man, it's like 3 a.m. in a dive bar in this thread! @lizards2 and @porcupine48 have @crassus so liquored up he's lost his virginity, @Batarag and @Casablanca are ripping stuff off the walls, and @Wolverinex is trolling for tarts in high heels...brings a tear to my eye...it's enough to make me wish I collected war comics (I mean, besides flamethrower covers, duh) GLWTS Mike! Fun thread as always! Merry Christmas to a buncha great boardies hanging out in here!
  2. So would that be like an anti-Grail? Could I use that in a sales thread? -- "X-Force #1 sealed in bag with Deadpool card, a true Liarg of the hobby."
  3. @sagii Flagged me that he would be starting this thread in GA after he saw me post in the similar one in Comics General, so I guess I'm cross-posting as my favorite three books acquired this year are all GA. Thanks Corey! As I said over there, I hemmed and hawed over my honorable mentions because I would like to name three different titles, but I just can't kick either of these two original owner Batmans out of the mix.
  4. Fear #24, Blade meets Morbius, is another possible template for that. Also, for a fun and way under the radar Drac in the Marvel universe book, Thor #333 is a cool Dracula vs Thor confrontation, contained in the single issue. Might be early copper, I can't recall offhand, but it's a bargain bin treat.
  5. I was being nice and making conversation, Brian. I do know how to go to large comic shops and find bargains. I'm simply saying it's not the most common title relative to its Bronze Age peers, and 7 is the most difficult of them.
  6. That's a lotta 7's...used to seeing maybe 1 or 2... But I never see them cheap.
  7. We've got $31 and we're just inside the final hour!
  8. Very cool; Fast Willies do seem to turn up fairly regularly but in very small numbers. I think it's fair to say they are tough books as Bronze goes. Patience can work for this run, except maybe #7, which in my experience is by far the least common.
  9. Thanks Mike! Hero put it on my radar a long time ago when they put it on their 100 Most Important Comic Books of All Time list.
  10. Yeah! I can dig it! If that's created an undercopy for you that's lying around, lemme know, Brian. I just need #1 and 2 now. Congrats!
  11. Probably one of Chris Pedrin's old Fortresses, I'd guess.

  14. None may know the hour....but, before the New Year tolls....when all hope seems lost.....You Might Find It! Seriously, those who have seen me do one of these before know what this means, but for those who have not, it is a random, rambling and raucous offering of Gold, Silver and Bronze oddities and obscurities, plus tangentially related items such as mags, books, etc and the occasional straight-up key/minor key. Be alert, as I really have no idea when I will fit it in over the holidays but it will happen. I'm still sorting stuff, and I am looking at two collections today for a few keepers and a lot of read-and-release enjoyment, some of which may also work its way into You Might Find It before it's over.
  15. Thank you; it's a sweet presentation in-hand, though the slight tear middle bottom (8 of diamonds) would hold back the technical grade a bit.
  16. I went back and forth on this, revisiting my honorable mentions as I kind of would like to pick three different titles, but I can't kick either of these original owner Batmans out of the top 3.
