  1. For those following this thread, running journals here, or who are interested in reading them, I have contacted a member of management at Invision and made my case for the comments filter, referring him to this thread. He said it was a 'fine suggestion' and will be speaking to the development team to hopefully have it included saying it would be 'simple enough to fix'. Apparently, we here on the CGC Forum are using the journals in a way that Invision were not expecting, hence the absence of what would otherwise have been considered an obvious filter choice. Fingers crossed that's the case and maybe we will see the capability added in a future update. I'll look out for it. In the meantime, those wondering why your journals get so little traffic, don't lose heart. Your comments have very little visibility presently, and many members won't even be aware that you've posted - especially those with an ad-block in place (which apparently eliminates the journals side bar). Getting a comments filter added will be a great step forward

  4. 9.4 to 9.6 from the looks of it, EDAS Can you find us evidence that GR #30 exists, as a APV? https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/404397-marvel-australian-price-variants/?do=findComment&comment=12066778
  5. This will only be in visual order on a desktop, but.... Yellow Cyan Magenta Black (K)
  6. I'm not certain, but I don't think so Yorick. It's smooth to the touch and just looks like clean, shiny metal to me. Ask me again in a few years when I open it up and a load of dust falls out Anyway, these plate sets are lovely things to hold. To know that they were used in production, and that Alan likely had his ink stained mits all over them, is a nice thing to ponder. Here is the 'cover proof' - no notes or production writing, alas (poor Yorick), but still a nice thing: The certificate, signed by Mister Class himself, a few years ago (I wonder how he's doing?): And the four printing plates: The sets are quite expensive - this one cost me £85 before posting - but as a fan of AC, I think that's reasonable to own a unique item. And being a Spidey cover makes it all the better, as he was always my favourite growing up and that will make it more attractive to future buyers if I ever get to that position. I've got three sets now - two Spideys and a Charlie. I'll probably leave it at that now. It's nice to see again how the half tone printing effect works - you can see here where the magenta plate is smooth for full colour (the top half of Spidey), and dappled for fading / half colour (the bottom half): Very cool
  7. I'm creeping up on you @AJD.... @Yorick, what drugs are you using and where can I get some?
  8. 4 plates and a cover proof. I'll scan them up tomorrow
  9. Lovely. You could almost miss the PBC stamp at the top, hiding in the webbing
  10. Four years later, I finally get my first Pink Panther #19 UKPV, to bring me up to 115 of the known 122: I like that the previous owner liked the PP: I think he's grate too
  11. Morning I thought it was high time I treated myself to something Classy. What better something than this lot: You can't beat a pre/post decimal priced Spider-Alan
  12. It wasn't a tattoo of course, but a stamp sent to me by the multi-talented Yorick in what was one of the the best and funniest comic parcels I've ever received from a board member. I was hoping for a bit more winding up on it, but there you go. He made me a GM&I stamp too - here they both are: He completely fooled me to start by placing the 9d stamp on a low grade copy of a certain book which we know couldn't possibly have it and the old heart was racing until I spotted it was numbered '10'. I won't post it, as the images get out onto Google via the bots and I don't want to be accused of circulating fake versions! Anyway, it was a bloody good ruse and had me smiling for a week. Thanks again @Yorick - best laugh I'd had in ages!
