  1. The second UKPV hiatus #84 is the one we expect to see the 'Goldstar' 10d oblong stamp on.... ...so the #87 is indeed later than usual, but that's not uncommon. They seemed to like stamping in the white of a cover burst didn't they: Or writing! A March 1967 cover dated issue would usually have been distributed 3 months prior in the US, so a December cover arrival date is bang on. And it shows that the book was distributed - and presumably failed to sell - in the US. Unless someone in the UK dated it of course... I found this in the files: I don't remember making it - did I ever post it? It's likely out of date now, anyway. I'll add the TOS #87 to it later and maybe have another scout about for more.
  2. Nicely done, Reggie, as always. I wonder if we should have a competition to write the missing dialogue for page two? It looks like one of those 'maybe a bit of web-swinging will banish the blues' type pages when Spidey was down in the dumps due to his life being a pile of it. Although the 'blues' on this occasion may have been more of the monthly type, if you catch my drift? What's the betting the dialogue was along the lines of 'I'll put on my special claws" then "My mask will keep my identity secret" etc. etc.
  3. That's what I gave it too You must be in the running for a top three finish Yorick, no?
  4. I think it was, yes. Odd given how many times some other books got recycled
  5. You are number....oh, I don't know actually Flashlites, what number you are. Got to wait for the spreadsheet...
  6. I scored a McGoohan this round, so have resigned from threatening the top of the leaderboard...
  7. You can find it under ebay sold, if you look. There is a clue in the sellers name...
  8. Not my copy - spotted it on the bay - but this is a nice example of the pre/post decimal stamp
  9. These can be confusing Brad, yes. The AusReprints website lists your book as a UK distributed one (as does the GCD): https://ausreprints.net/issue/2359/9436 Even though KG Murray were an Australian publisher, they did have books printed for distribution in the UK, so CGC are right to call the book a UK (distributed) edition on this occasion. Sometimes, two versions of the same numbered book exist, one priced 6d and one 8d. I'm by no means an expert in this area, but there's some examples in one of my journal entries here which might help clarify the UK/AUS position:
  10. They look cool, don't they Albert. I mentioned them in the DC thread: https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/415409-dc-uk-price-variants/?do=findComment&comment=11577833
  11. It is enjoyable, isn't it. I miss the participant prize thread - it's a shame we couldn't keep that going - but it's fun having something to participate in and track for a few weeks, no matter how well or badly you do. I think my last submission reply emoji indicates I've crashed and burned, but who gives a focaccia
  12. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in there... Oh, hang on - there already is one
  13. Washing machines live longer with Calgon!
  14. Ah yes, I'd forgotten about him. Did some of his best work in the tenties.
  15. This is true. Fortunately, we don't need to work out what to call the last two because there hasn't been any decent music made since 1997.
