  1. Most of the later T&P stamps were actually more purpley. Only the first version was that shocking black: Yes, it's the combination that gets me. Written and typed lettering - hard to imagine how that came about unless the book was in a bag with both writing types blocking the sun.
  2. Of course. But the o will still give you away. On the copy we're discussing, we have o and 1 distance. I can't believe I'm typing this shzit
  3. With us. It will never work with us. On current form though, CGC would likely slab the trimmed number of a Marvel Team-Up #54 as an Action #1.
  4. No, if it was a Dectective 11 in that slab, you'd be able to see the top tip of the second 1 given the amount of cover available to the right of the first 1. Wait for pictures if I'm not making sense Here we go. See how much cover there is to the rightof the 1 in the Action #1: If it was a Dectective #11, I think we'd be able to see a part of the second 1 - the top tip perhaps - like so:
  5. The o that you already pointed out and the distance between the two 1's on the 11 - the second 1 would show its tip with the amount of book on show in the slabbed #1 piece, if that makes sense. I'm on my mobile, otherwise I'd post pictures.
  6. My Detective #11 post was just a bit of flippancy. The Action #1 has identifiable characteristics.
  7. There are two further stupid possibilities that I'm aware of Golders: the stupid associated with the oft promised, but never forthcoming CGC 'foreigns' labelling announcement, and the stupid associated with my continuing attempts at chasing it.
  8. Yes. It seems stupidity is quite lucrative though, doesn't it.
  9. Typical. It's the size of a gnat's arse and there's glue on it
  10. I bought this blind on eBay as it has been known to have the first Batgirl in it: Contents vary though, from copy to copy, so I'd need to be lucky. Drum roll please
  11. Ohhh that’s a great point to. I mean assuming the interior isn’t like dead white space or something. Here's the back cover image: That's either the natural colouring from the interior ad, or the owner cut his finger when he chopped it up.
  12. It's not just you Grimjack, no. Many people have made the same observation which, let's face it, is an entirely logical and reasonable one to make in the absence of any official statement or figures. If it helps ease your mind, I was recently told by someone from CGC that the signing event volumes are comparatively small and do not materially impact turn around times for books submitted in the normal course of business.
  13. A rare romance book ticked off the DC T&P stamp missing list - Falling in Love #35 (June 1960): That's only the third stamped issue I've found for that title within the first four stamp cycle issue range (#30-48). I quite like it.
  14. Great minds I'm still smarting from missing "a piece of the action"
  15. Thanks Doc - but I can't see your pictures I used to take the Michael about the competitions in my Charlton thread - a nice bit of Turkish Taffy and a full size swimming pool. And all likely bogus....
  16. It wouldn't surprise me to hear if there was one - someone has bound to have done something by now - but I haven't happened across anything on my travels so far. Not that I've been looking that hard. The GCD should have most issues and their contents recorded, I would've thought Rich.
