  1. Before the change, if an OP deleted the first post in any thread they started, the whole thread would be wiped. That meant the OP could wipe all the subsequent posts. It was argued that they should not have that power - the power to delete other members content.
  2. Yes, I think I said that at the start but that start was years ago now. Post away, tj. You have my blessing.
  3. I think most would prefer it without Jeffrey, even in the UK. I wasn't keen on them myself years ago but have since grown to love them as I see now how they represent a part of my countries history in respect of American comics imported to the UK (and at a time where pretty much everything cool about comics was in play). Your '8' stamp is the earliest I have seen for that issue, incidentally - I just added it to my table: Click on it if you'd like to know more.
  4. No. It is a cents copy that was imported to the UK and distributed by Thorpe & Porter (That's their 9d price stamp on the cover). To qualify for 'UK Price Variant' designation, a book has to be part of the original US print run, and have a printed UK price. You've just answered your own question there, I think, Jeffrey CGC have confirmed that it does not affect the grade - they treat it as part of the natural production and distribution process. Value will be determined by the individual - some won't like it, some will, and some won't care.
  5. That's a great cover. I can't help thinking that the reason our Cinders has kicked that heel off is because she inadvertently wore two right shoes that morning.
  6. Nicely done Rich. If I ever get around to posting my Charlton research you'll be dazzled by the vast array of stamp related quirks. I always liked that TTA cover, by the way
  7. Some interesting pence musings of a financial kind, here:
  8. One other factor that I've noted is that books in UK based auctions, which are generally raw, are doing tremendously well lately. Perhaps the home market in this case are rekindling their love and experience of the books they used to have as kids in the UK. And maybe they are finally taking advantage of the books available on home soil, as opposed to paying out for long, nervy shipping times. There are lots of factors in play. Bayowolf thought the Heritage cents X-Men #14 looked nicer than the UK graded equivalent. Eye appeal may have played a part, therefore in the price difference as it does with any books. Overall, it does look like they are on the rise though, pence copies. I think that is just, as they have equal production status to the cents copies, but a little part of me dies as I see each book move further and further out of financial sight.
  9. Great stuff, I was hoping you'd chime in Panto. There were two 8.5's on Heritage, one pence, one cents, both OWP, going up against each other. I got these results:
  10. That's definitely colour touch I'm afraid, Dockpig. CGC remove colour touch by scraping the affected part of the book away I believe. In this case, the cover would fall off so there's not much scope for anything other than a restored label, if you go ahead and slabulate it.
  11. I was half jesting in my reply to Bluemed. The Marvel keys and significant books are doing well, as I said. But some non-Marvel UK Price Variants (DC, Dell etc) and some later Marvel UKPVs still have much lower interest and value comparative to their cents copies. Your X-Men #14 is a significant book, so under normal circumstances I would expect it to do well compared to a cents equivalent. We'll find out soon, on that particular book.
  12. Spot on Bluemed. I own some of the rarest UK Price Variants known - and they aren't worth sh for that very reason. Near zero supply. Near zero demand!
  13. Aw, brilliant. I'm a little envious, Mark. I went on me Jack Jones, as Marwood had ed off for the day. Which turned out alright actually, as he can be a bit of a drag, if you know what I mean.
  14. Hands up who doesn't love their Postman? A nice big pile of 25c/20c copies arrived today, to help me work through the indicia comparisons and, hopefully, drive out a target maximum 15c variant list What else can we do on a Monday? I'll keep you all posted. Of course, I say 'all'....
  15. Technically, I didn't understand a word of that Mark, but I think I know what you meant all the same
  16. Ha! That's a cool montage Ganni, well done. I thought of you when I saw the hat. And I thought the scene at the end, when he moved his few boxes into the flat, was very reminiscent of old Spidey
