  1. I watched it yesterday with my Mum. We've watched all eight series, and Dexter is one on my top five shows of all time. Something about that chap, and the supporting cast. A winning way. I saw Mr Hall in London on the way to a comic fair the other year - I think he was starring in a Bowie stage show. I called out something very boring and uninspired, as you annoyingly find yourself doing when caught on the hop, and he replied with gracious thanks. And that was that. A missed opportunity. The final season was satisfying, if a little underpowered. It never reached the dizzy heights of the early seasons, but certainly surpassed the previous 'ending'. I'd have liked to see him speak to Angel before the end - just one confrontation with someone from the old school. A fitting end though, finding love for the first time in that last moment of sacrifice, but I will miss him. He's now filed away with Capaldi, Craig, Smith....
  2. It's a good question Maths, but sometimes there isn't an obvious answer. Well, above the obvious financial one I mean. Why does one person like a particular song and another not? What floats one boat leaves another in dry dock. Did that work? I dunno. Sounds good though. When it comes to identical books, I like having multiple copies because it makes me feel good. Often with comics, I just go with that and try not to analyse it too much. I like it. I'll have it (if I can afford it). Even if I've already got it. It doesn't have to make sense. Aside of that indefinable, arguably illogical feeling of basic duplicate acquisition pleasure, I also like to collect copies of the same book to prove something. A bit like this: As Lizard Brain will testify, happily, no two Charlton copies are ever alike anyway, really... @lizards2
  3. Cobblers or not, I love how you piece all that together You know how often I look Rich, and I save an image of any and every stamp type I see - don't have a one in the files for Marvel.
  4. Could be. Or perhaps they relate to geographical areas - G for Galway, C for Cavan. I don't have, or see enough examples of these appearing to build a picture though. Personally, I don't see the T&P similarity at all. Yes, a circle split between price and some letter/number indicator but I would guess any stamp might look like that. Could be wrong though. Here's one on a 1956 Charlton: No Irish county starting with a E, so.... As we know, there's no way of knowing when that stamp was applied - 1956, or at any point since when 10d was still operative. The wife has Irish ancestry and we pop over there from time to time. I'll see if anyone has any recollections. You never know.
  5. Sorry Maths, I should have put some words with that. Two different copies, just to show the difference. Oddest looking tear I've ever seen!
  6. Sounds like annual #2, Eric You probably mean this one though, for which I've never seen an error copy: Show us it if you have one. I did have a 187 misprint though, of sorts:
  7. Is it this one Eric - a few issues later, though: I wouldn't find those significant enough to warrant a label mention myself. This, I would:
  8. I agree significant printing errors could be noted on the CGC label - especially if the error is internal - but the word 'variant' should not be used. 'Printing Error' would suffice, and be factually accurate.
  9. Here's my old copy: Printing errors aren't variants by definition, so CGC should never refer to them as such. Some error books take on mythical status in the hobby though (ASM #149 for example / FF #110), so I can see why a company as lax as CGC would adopt the term for high profile books. They're not very good at ascribing terminology / nomenclature in my opinion.
  10. Lots to read here! I'm on the road today so will give it all the once over at the weekend
  11. Rich is your man on this one, Robot @Malacoda - he's done the UKPV vs stamped cents copies at the same time analysis....
  12. Arrgh! I do recognise it, and it's driving me insania. I can see it in my minds eye, Spidey crashing through a window or something....? Triple-B will know it @bababooey
  13. Just found a picture of what looks like a Spidey one: @Spider-Variant Reggie! You seen anything like this before?
  14. Don't you think that's odd - not one online reference or picture to be found, and Jotastar being an established brand at the time? Closest I can find is this, dated 1979:
  15. I like that. Heavy fade. That's one heavy fade, man.
  16. Cor, I like them. We must try to find out what these 'lettered' stamps signify if we can, and where they were distributed. I've not seen that 'G' one before - will add it to the example list. Here, Robot, you're a toy man. Not literally, that would be silly, but have you seen one of these before?: https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/501948-hulk-super-spinner-1978-jotastar-has-anyone-ever-seen-one-before/#comment-12142911
