  1. 1972 was a good year too: It's a wonder they could come up with different stories for each title!
  2. They look quite cool in a way. Like two-tone books.
  3. Here's an odd one. The relatively scarce IW 'Strange Mysteries' #9, which looks on first inspection to have spent some time in the sun: This is what it should look like: I can only assume that the book spent some time in a bag, with writing on it, in the sun, to create this effect: But this wording below is printed: How could print obscure sunlight / protect the natural reds like that I wonder? You can write on a bag with a marker to create the previous scenario, but print? If it was ink transfer from a different comic, somehow, it would be in reverse, wouldn't it? A very odd one
  4. Such a shame when this happens. Collectibles somehow managed to stay in great shape, against all the odds, for forty plus years. Then, just as they are about to be united with a loving, careful owner, some wally puts them in a jiffy bag and tosses them into the unloving, uncareful hands of the post office. Forty five years of unlikely preservation gone in an instant.
  5. It's in the window https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/434662-archie-uk-price-variants/?do=findComment&comment=11895531 As Bucks Fizz once sang, "Now...those... days... are... gone...."
  6. And the 3.6 bazillion sesterses 9.6 one has a shard of rogue plastic in the slab and a dented top too. Give me the 6d western rags any day
  7. Has the Mad House got a Miller price stamp by any chance?
  8. I read that only the other month. That was one expensive pickled onion.
  9. I would guess that resources are the issue Peter. If they receive a label in the post, there's no doubt that the book has been cracked open and anyone can make a data entry adjustment accordingly without having to engage their brain. If you provide a case based on images and investigations however, then they have to set up a channel and pay someone with a modicum of nous to vet that information. CGC, in my experience, do not pay people to do things like that as they do not generate income. So it's probably as simple as they don't want to pay for the required resources that would be needed to fulfil your sensible suggestion. Indeed. But, like all the issues in the model, it's never quite enough to impact the bottom line. And that, it seems, is all that matters.
  10. You too Peter. When is Festive Elvis putting in an appearance?
  11. Cheers Kev. In my minds eye, I assumed I'd win it, and the unknown extras would then be a surprise. Something to look forward to, a bit of excitement. Hope it went OK. I missed day two too with one thing and another.

  13. The 'CGC Chat Boards' button (which takes you to the home / forums list page).... ....is currently, temporarily, sending us to the journal pages instead of the home page. As a workaround, on a Desktop, select 'Home' as below: On a mobile, select 'Forums' then 'Home': Both will take you to the normal home page / CGC Forums list:
  14. They're trying to fix the journals tab links and I think have made an error - sure it will return to normal soon.
  15. On mobiles, from the top right menu, select 'Forums' > 'Home'
  16. Select 'Home' from the list below in the meantime - someone is tinkering...
