  1. You spotted the 25c UKPV spines Robot. Keep going mate. I thought I'd gone through the bottom of the pence nuance barrel twice over myself - if anyone can find anything new, I'm banking on it being you...
  2. I've forgotten most of what I have posted here as it goes. A search of "November 1971" and I find....
  3. ....looks like that pattern exists on all the November 1971 8p books: I can't believe I didn't notice that before Robot - you're my new best friend A printed 8p on the front, and a printed 25c retained accidentally on the spine. Brilliant
  4. .... ten minute reprieve - she forgot the halloumi. I found this copy of a pence ASM #102 with the 25c still showing on the spine: Excellent spot @themagicrobot, excellent! I hadn't noticed that before
  5. I think we're arguing for the same thing unless I'm missing something Robot - they were clearly printed at 8p to reflect the increased content and someone said the 6p stickers were an error, i.e. that they should have been 8p in line with the printed 8p price (when placed over a 25c copy). But the 6p was placed over the 8p printed price, not the 25c. So my argument was that T&P probably got the jitters when they saw a printed 8p and rushed out the stickers to correct them thinking no one would pay that. I'm intrigued - what am I looking for? Is the 25c missing on the pence copy? Is it the same as the DC Flash #108 spine scenario? I'll be back after dinner Robot - wife's calling....
  6. While we're at it, you should be in any HOF yourself Paul. Sorry, Ken or whatever your fing name is. A man of some longevity, unquestionable taste and with an uncanny knack of finding the right phrase for the right moment. And a real interest in the actual stories of comics too, which is uncommon for a comic forum. You should be up there mate, on any walk of fame type thing
  7. This image of another raw copy shows that only the back cover is missing from your copy from the looks of it Sharon:
  8. Seems like everyone is making misstakes today Misatkes pissstakes...
  9. I'll send you a PM now with the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody BriD - if you get the lot, we're laughing
  10. See the confusion CGC spread in the hobby, with their incorrect labels....
  11. Time travel, eh... Oh, hang on, That was Doctor Who wasn't it.
  12. There is only one version of issue number 1. Unless a non-photo version has escaped every Star Trek collector ever, CGC have made a labeling error.
  13. Nice Star Trek #1 is one of the few issues in the run that doesn't have any variations if you didn't already know - cool site here, lists out all the types if you ever decide to go mad, B2D: https://www.startrekcomics.info/art/goldkeywhitmanall.html
  14. Cheers We've wandered off track a bit in this thread I think, which is OK as it has sort of developed more into a discussion about all things relating to US publications distributed in the UK. For the purists among us, I will be posting two full journal summary pages over at the Pence Palace at some point so that all the salient, date sequential information that we have uncovered isn't lost to those who want to cut through the fluff. So, as with my other threads, those journal pages will stand as the data record, and this thread can be for the discussion of it and anything else loosely connected to it.
  15. Works for me! Full text and pics too My 'Somebody reacted to a post in a topic' notifications have reverted to the full post text now too, thanks Dena. The 'Your CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards digest' notifications were unchanged by the December update so I presume they'll stay the same as full text. The only notification type I have yet to check (assuming they can differ?) are the 'Someone quoted one of your posts', 'You were mentioned in a post by...' and private messages. Hopefully the change you made will cover them all, but I'll let you know if any of those remain curtailed the next time I get one.
  16. I saw the article in the news this week and was pondering a post here myself as it goes Robot. You beat me to it. I post about the six pee stickers earlier in this thread and in my journal summary page (note #15). And a brief discussion was held over at Wordpress about it: The post was liked by one person as you can see, and set a new world record for interest in pence blathery across the triple-W. Cosmic.
  17. A rare event this morning, a new Golden Key Over at the Pence Palace (notes 10 & 11) I speculate about the gap patterns and conclude that Tweety & Sylvester #51 should exist as a pence copy - here's the old table, arrowed to show: On-off, on-off.... Sure enough, up she pops finally in a grotty eBay lot: I won't be bidding on this one, at that price, but it's nice to know that my theory was right and to see this missing piece of the jigsaw finally fall into place. I'm sure another copy will turn up one day for me to snaffle (not far off a full pence set now). That makes 121 confirmed Golden Pence Keys now - splendid For the small group that care, or as they're sometimes otherwise called, 'Marwood & I', that's a cool thing indeed. See ya.
  18. From earlier in the thread Robot: I have a copy of the UK version now. Just haven't gotten around to posting about it yet as it's sitting under a ton of encyclopaedias. I'm an expert presser you know...
  19. Journal page updated with the new numbers: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/blogs/entry/4916-marvel-australian-price-variants/
  20. Afternoon Courtesy of our same eBay seller, clearly a fan, we have two more Barbies to add today, bringing us up to 1,318 confirmed APVs: Now number 36 is a particularly good one to have found because it showed up a mistake (dun-dun-duuuhhhhhhn!) on my spreadsheet. I had both Barbie and Barbie Fashion stopping at issue #35 for some unknown reason. So the two books not only increase the APV total but the 'actual issues in the APV cover date range': Issue #36 mirrors the BF #35 in its positional loneliness, but strengthens the possibility that all the others could exist too. They're just evidently very scarce titles. Here are the revised issue plottings for both: I doubt if any exist beyond #36 given our known APV April 94 absence scenario, but you can clearly never say never, eh? All good fun
