  1. "Invite the Enemy to Dinner" "Show the Enemy Your Rare Mounted Butterfly Collection" No. No, it still doesn't work.
  2. Sorry, Robot, I was having dinner again. A nice, healthy salmon stir fry with vegetables. Which, no doubt, I will supplement in a few hours time with 'three cheesers' (the family name for grilled cheese on white doorstop bread) As for Emmerdale, is there anyone left alive? I always thought they should shut the place down to avoid all the imminent plane crashes, explosions and other such disasters. It would likely wipe out 90% of all Yorkshire based organised crime as well as reducing the national death toll. Bring back the Cedar Tree, that's what I say. "Invite the Enemy to Dinner" No, you're right Eric. Doesn't work, does it. Couldn't make their bleedin minds up could they, on the Tower pricing. Six quid was a bit much though, eh... Two more 10d's, one sticker, one stamp... One sticker, one stamp, one arm, one leg, one nod of the head keep moving...
  3. We must spend all day looking at the same eBay listings Robot - I was looking at that one yesterday I like this one, that I did buy last year: The Towers seemed to get quite a bit of stamping and sticker action as it goes.
  4. Don't worry, it's on the list... Yes, this is my third set. I sent one in the post to a good friend in Canada the other year and it would've been cheaper to hire a private jet to take it there myself. The smile on his face was worth it though, I understand
  5. Being too young - I'm only 24 - I don't have any personal recollections to draw upon, but the handful of dealers that I have asked believed the early (LM) Charltons at least were only distributed in certain parts of the country. With their premises being in Hackney, you might imagine London would be one of them, but the opposite seems to be the case if their anecdotal recollections are anything to go by. I'd love to know more.
  6. The first 'earliest stamped DC by cover date' update in a long while - Tomahawk #66 (stamp number unclear, alas):
  7. The picture in From The Tomb is much clearer, and you can actually see 'Miller & Co Wholesale Book Sellers / Publishers' in the windows: The rest of the article is very much focussed on Miller's reprint activity as expected. I'm constantly surprised by how little - virtually nothing, in fact - is ever mentioned about their distribution of the Marvel UK variants of this thread, their Charlton UK Price Variants and also their distribution in the UK of Archie, Harvey and IW original US comics. Those aspects appear to have been completely overlooked in all the records I have seen whether online or in print. I'm pleased though that any Google searches now bring up my research here which, I think, helps complete the picture in respect of all Miller's UK based comic activities.
  8. That's OK Steven, we all love our comics don't we - thanks for removing the picture. The GCD is a great resource, referred to by many, so any inaccuracies should be removed where possible - I'd get rid of the shell too if you can, as it implies the book exists and an image has yet to be uploaded: I take your point re the 'current' bolded in your post, but this is one book that won't be turning up, trust me.
  9. Quite a bit of chaos during the (UK) night I see: In the court room In Calgary At the construction site In the cabaret In Kansas City In the court At Canaveral In Canada At the Coliseum In the land called Kush In Kansas Amid the... Too much chaos in my life as it is you see...
  10. This from the CGC resources section: https://www.cgccomics.com/resources/restoration/ "While tape could be considered restoration because it is usually used to repair defects, its prevalence on comic books has led collectors to accept tape as a defect rather than restoration. As such, CGC does not recognize tape as restoration, rather downgrading a comic book accordingly if it is present. Because of the destructive nature of tape, CGC believes that is should never be used on a comic book for any reason."

Are there any more chaotic places out there, or places where chaos can be found?
  14. So 'chaos on campus' could actually mean Chaos is on campus physically - maybe picking up his results or something - rather than chaos has broken out generally Ken? Chaos causing chaos on campus would be cool Ken (was that a tongue twister, or what?)
  15. I'm lower at 2.0ish I'm afraid - it's got a lot wrong with it and doesn't have good eye appeal. Books like these are indeed called squarebound by the way, due to the shape of the spine, and it's normal for the inner pages to be stapled. The cover is glued on.
  16. Chaos crept into the crypt, crapped, and crept out again

  18. Do you think having your arm in a sling offers much protection when you're being punched through a metal wall by an angry broad, Namor?
