  1. I like the look of those old paper records of yours there Albert: How many comics have you got then? I'm guessing a lot
  2. Those Diamonds always seem - indicatively - to sit alongside an existing stamp don't they
  3. These 'Gold Token' books are odd. A UK publication, with one shilling printed prices and every one stamped an 8: An overstock joblot of some kind?
  4. It's the only listing that he has, so it maybe an oversight - perhaps he used a previous template or something. But as I've said before, he tends to confuse the terminology to the degree that gives the impression that he views printed and stamped copies the same. It doesn't help the cause.
  5. I am interested in all UK distribution elements and dates - my earlier comment just underlined the focus of this particular thread ('First Official......'). The WF#105 is a known 'earliest stamped' cover date copy, thanks: Here is a new one to the thread though - Detective #273, newly updated on the above table: It's stamped a six so joins the club with the recent OAAW#89: That brings us up to seven '6' stamped books now. As the numbers increase, how likely is it do we think that all these are actually late second cycle books? If they were the 'first ever', and arrived sequentially first in the UK, it might make sense that the numbers would be comparatively low (to 8 and 9). Maybe the 7 boat sank? The Detective 273 was listed by the 'Dream Director' on eBay - Duncan is obviously having a clear out. It's a shame to see him list this though, as a key representative of UK comic history:
  6. Is this the evidence we were looking for? A contemporaneous use of the 2/- diamond stamp to (almost) prove categorically it's a T&P stamp! I'm not a denizen, I just visit occasionally!
  7. The Baz Gang, circa 1975, in the garden in front of my Dad's runner beans: Plasticky, Comedy Face, Baz (it was his gang) and Peter. I'm behind the camera. Miss those guys...
  8. I see that no one rose to the challenge of posting another T&P stamped Gold Key, following my post some pages back. Here is the current two shilling loner, of which two examples have been found: Gold Key are an oddity I find, in the history of US comics in the UK. Aside of this apparent lone stamped copy, we have a proliferation of 6p stickered Tom and Jerrys (and only Tom and Jerrys, no other titles have I found)... ...followed by the formal UKPVs, with the suspiciously similar printed font: There is also only a small handful of other, non-company specific price stamped examples in the files so far. And I haven't seen any direct evidence as to who was responsible for the printed UKPV's distribution over here. A most mysterious set of publications, are the Gold Keys....

  10. I meant unique to the publication Albert - I've not seen that stamp type on any other publisher's book. Have you? I've not seen enough examples to make it a thing though.
  11. Which coincidentally is about as much as he'd consider discounting it by if you asked. And then he'd decline.
