  1. That's a nice looking copy. I've never seen a cents copy over here. Or a high grade one for that matter! I've seen so many high grade pence copies of that on ebay USA over the years - there must have been a case of them discovered or something. Your 9d ones are in better condition than ours
  2. That'll learn ya for not unticking the box Steve
  3. Genuine (from Heritage): Ebay listing: The 'W' above looks like an arse!
  4. Cheers Dude Glad you posted it - I'll pick up any progress over here:
  5. It's a similar scenario to the process of tearing off a piece of cover to hide trimming. A nice, straight cut - obvious trimming, and the book is financially damned and deemed undesirable to the majority. Rough that same edge up a bit and you'll likely get a blue label as the damage will look 'natural'. Deface a defaced book further and return it to blue status. The hobby is full of these situations which, I have found, appear completely bonkers to anyone outside of it.
  6. Hi Matt, Thanks for that. This is timely for me, as I have about ten books that I plan to submit. I have three questions please: Do we in the UK need to complete an online submission form and print out a packing slip before attending any appointment at the UK headquarters? Or do we just book an appointment, turn up with our books, and the UK office guide us through any process / form filling? This is what the submission page looks like for me by the way - not sure what I'd need to select to continue, if an online submission form is required: In the image above you can see a link telling us (UK dwellers) to go to cgccomics.uk to submit from the UK. When I go there to log in, it doesn't accept my current 'US' log in details. Do I have to register separately with CGC UK? Cheers, Steve
  7. I see, right. I don't believe the combination of actions you are looking for here are currently configurable alas. It was fun trying though @porcupine48 Jim? Ryan want's ya.
  8. I've had a quick review of all the December 1961 titles and haven't found any other examples yet. Odd isn't it. I'll keep looking though - I'm in the middle of getting my next thread ready - First Distribution in the UK (don't pretend you're not excited) - so this will have to wait for now.
  9. There's a few scenario's like that around the forum - image resizing is a good example, where the default position isn't helpful. Just something to live with really I think - you'll only get 'first world problem' gifs if you persist pointing it out It doesn't for me. I've posted in this thread for example and I'm not following it. Can you post an image of the 'preferences' screen you're talking about? We're likely talking about different things here.
  10. Reading your post again, this comment puzzles me Lightning. Can you elaborate? I'm intrigued.
  11. I'm wondering whether I've just misunderstood what you're seeking to do here Lightning. If you're talking purely about the 'who follows this' box at the top of every thread / forum... ....then all you have to do if you don't want people to see that you are one of the followers is untick the 'Let others see that I follow this' box as below: If you want to apply that concept to every thread / forum you follow, then follow my earlier 'Managed Followed Content' instructions and that will stop you showing as a follower of that thread to those who click on the 'see who follows this' button. From that point, every new thread you decide to follow, untick the box. I was just trying to answer Lightning's question Krypto. and failing from the looks of it! I don't think it's a big deal whether people want to lurk or not - it's their business. The functionality is there, use it, don't use it. I don't use it much myself but can see how some guilty pleasure scenario might manifest - you don't want people to see you're following a car crash thread maybe, that kind of thing. Like admitting you liked Abba back in the day
  12. That's cool. Two different copies with the same printing scenario: In both cases, the 12c of the price correction appear to sit behind the 'JO' of the title and yet both are placed differently indicating they were applied by hand. I can't find any others online after a quick search but will look out for them. My initial thought is they may be connected to the 'Black Circle' price variants, which would be cool - 75 & 76:
  13. Here it is on the mobile app (Account / Manage Followed Content):
  14. That's in my explanation above - select all in 'Manage Followed Content' and then the middle button in the pop up lets you select 'Do not let others see...' It worked for me - give it a go
  15. Ok, let's have a go at answering this. There are two main ways I know to follow a thread or forum. The first is by clicking on the green plus symbol which is at the top of each thread / forum: For threads you start yourself, you can select the 'notify me of replies' button at the foot of the opening post of your thread before you post it: Both of those actions are proactive - you have to make the decision to follow the content. To stop following the content you can of course uncheck the green symbol at the top of the relevant thread or forum. If you want to stop following everything, or change the preferences, then you need to go to settings either here (Manage Followed Content)..... ....or here (Followed Content): Both selections will bring you to the 'Manage Followed Content' page: From there you can select all, or bulk select the Topics, Forums etc that you no longer wish to follow. You can also change the preferences types too, including the ability to let others see what you are following: Remember though, once you delete them they will no longer appear in your 'My Activity Streams' content list if that is a function you use. Hope that helps, and that I understood your question
