  1. Well, it's something to do on a Sunday isn't it. You never know, there might even be some comics there....
  2. Of this current production, no. Hope.
  3. ...then you'll be disappointed to hear that the Cybermen are eventually defeated in episode two by the coronavirus Ken. The Whitterer gives a speech to a chastened Master about the importance of washing your hands, advising that austerity was ultimately to blame for a lack of available soap in the universe.
  4. It was Ken. But if rubbish was 1, and Doctor Who was 100, it has moved from 13 up to 22. Nasty top Cyborgman had his moments. Shame JW didn't have anything to say back to him other than her (Chibbers) usual distinctly human sounding blah blah. She'll beat him time after time. Sounds like the dialogue you'd expect from Clubber Lang rather than a 1,000 year old genius time being doesn't it. I've probably said this before, but on a scale of 1 to 100, how much of a non-entity is Ryan? 1 is a non-entity, 100 the most non-entity possible.
  5. "Level 139. It's always been my favourite level" Yes, hasn't it just. Just watched the first part of Ascension of The Borg, sorry, Cybermen on catch up. Whilst it has much to commend it as a programme in the visuals department, it still feels very un-Doctor Who like to me. It has a basic feel to it. A harshness. Almost nasty. There is no humour to speak of. No snappy dialogue. Nothing clever that I caught. Just straightforward story telling. The lead continues to underwhelm. " How is that possible?" she says. The companions continue to stand out for their sheer dull ordinariness, whilst displaying a knowlegde and practicality beyond their natural means. A few trips in the Tardis seems to imbue otherwise ordinary people with sudden inexplicable 'space awareness'. I can't detect any link at all to the last time the Doctor, Masters and Cybermen caught up. Capaldi's last Cyber tussle doesn't seem to have left any mark on Whittaker. It's like that never happened. That was a clever one, the Capaldi finale. Humour, horrror, wit, ingenuity, memorable speeches. A regeneration rendering showdown. Where did all that go? It is undoubtedly better than previous Chibera episodes, this latest one. But in my opinion, it all remains stubbornly not Doctor Who. I hear that the crew are on for a third series. So the wait, for me, goes on, alas.
  6. Everybody's kicking the tyres. Guy.
  7. Yes, but with a 'u' Here's the date summary from a table in my Marvel UK Price Variant thread - August 1974 to Sep 1980:
  8. I am. Our Marvel reprints were all in black and white with the odd single colour pages. That was the standard. When pence priced variants of the originals came over, it was felt important to stress to the UK readers that the comics were in full colour. I remember as a kid our paper shops had our A4 sized reprint comics like Spider-Man Comics Weekly (which I didn't know were reprints at the time) and these odd looking smaller ones with sodding great price stamps on them. I still remember the first day I realised ours weren't the real ones!
  9. A bit like our pence priced "ALL COLOUR COMICS!" logos from the seventies. We do the best Marvels don't we, us foreigners
  10. That's one more than most boardies Callaway! Here's my old copy: All good fun...
  11. That's a nice one, thanks Eric! Our 1,280th confirmed Australian Price Variant. Only three to go for that title now: Although #208 may not exist being an AUS April 1994 dated issue, leaving just 232 and 239. And I still don't have a decent enough image of #240 to make out the AUS price! Getting there though.... Thanks again.
  12. Nice set of three different 338's there @greggy
  13. That was my thought too, that the offers are being made with the potential implied threat that the buyer may be difficult over the existing one. Crummy tactic if so.
  14. It's a shame there are people out there like this isn't it. Send him a message saying you'll be away for 10 days without access to online but, if he leaves you nice feedback for the current transaction, you'll consider those offers on your return. Once you have the feedback, and the transaction is settled, block and ignore them.
  15. I'd have loved to see the interior pages - I don't suppose you took pre-slabbed pictures? Also, Lifesuggs, did you request a Qualified label? I 'Asked CGC' last month whether an internal printing error copy I have would get a Blue with a note or a Qualified. They said Blue Universal with a note and then deleted the post. I've asked again, and hope the publish the answer this time.
  16. Whilst, as a lover of the medium, I find it hard to disagree with the general sentiments, people can read the issues online. And he's really only railing against human nature. If there's a way to make a buck, people will do it whatever the medium. Lots of ways to make a buck with comics, many of which can appear 'unseemly'. If you queue up to get your favourite artist to sign one book, because you love their work, you're a fan. Get him to sign 50 books though....
  17. There's also a little bit of blue vs grey going on at the top right corner above the masthead too. Lots of printing issue variations with this issue...
