  1. It was. All the pics are here: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/excaliburauctions/catalogue-id-excali10012/lot-97dec80a-c3dc-4baa-87dd-a9d600ecabc3?utm_source=auction-alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=auction-alert&utm_content=lot-image-link
  2. Yep. A few looked very nice from the front but had some tanning inside the covers. This cents ASM #3 went for £5,000 before the 23% fee: They'll do well with that slabbed if is NM
  3. Exactly. I was hoping it was going to be amateur hour with a non-comic audience. There was a big round of applause when it went for £15K and the auctioneer looked liked he needed the toilet afterwards.
  4. This one: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb?utm_source=auction-alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=auction-alert&utm_content=the-saleroom-logo They can have some nice stuff listed, but this lot was a step above the norm. There are a few UK sellers who buy everything up - I often see the lots reappear on ebay, usually for far more than was bid.
  5. About that, yes. It was fun to watch live. I was tempted on a few if I'm honest. The estimate (based on a Fine rating) was £8-10K so I was hoping it might go for less if the wrong audience was in place. It clearly didn't!
  6. That's a GREAT looking AF15. What do you think it grades 5.0? I think the winner got a great price! Nice and clean looking isn't it. It was listed as a Fine but I thought nearer 5.0 too, hence the hope of snagging a bargain. Difficult to tell from photos, but I suspect it handled well in the flesh.
  7. This looks like the cyan and magenta plates were swapped I know! Funny thing, they're all like it. Every copy I've seen. That's the Australians for you.
  8. I got an answer of sorts. Seems the quirks are everywhere... Anyway, how cool is this Alf #39? That's a MASSIVE AUS price It's on eBay now, along with a few more AUS copies. Shame the seller decided to photograph them all in the dark. I've sent him a message asking for some better snaps of what I think are AUS copies of 42,43 and 46 So a few more to add to the pot
  9. Is that a real comic Craig or did you get kav to draw it?
  10. I used to have one of them many years ago but my copy had 'Shore Video Comics' stamped on the letter: Was it legit do you think? It had the red stamp on the back (I neglected to scan it before selling it)
  11. Yes! Thanks Lazyboy. I did indeed miss that. Will have a read now Interesting stuff Lazyboy. Not sure how I missed that one. So many little unexplained oddities and quirks out there isn't there...
