  1. Here's Dragoom! the flaming intruder. He's a 9d copy and all that. Bit tatty but he smells lovely. Not sure how I'm supposed to learn the hair-raising truth though, being of less than hirsute bonce? Still, he helps with the indicia research. Did I mention that before? He's burnt the wall down and everything hasn't he. Flaming intruders. Get on your thruppenies don't they Dragoom! I quite like saying that out loud. Try it.
  2. In the Navy! You can sail the seven seas In the Navy! You can query stamped RV's No, still haven't found anyone who know's anything about these 1964/5 'RV' 9d cover stamps: There's a lot of them about I find, on Charlies here and there. Who were they.....
  3. ...same one though! Another #111, in better condition that his brother up above. I tell you, it's easily the best Laugh I've had in ages Shut up
  4. Sure, but this is simply a factual thread about books that look different than they should. I don't know what opinion is relevant here. divad, I read your contribution as "so what guys, get a life". That's fair enough, you are indeed entitled to your opinion as you said. I'd question the wisdom of sharing it though. Unless you have some ongoing relationship with the authors, and it's seen as humour, it can come across as pretty rude. I like your new avatar by the way, and said as such in my avatar thread.
  5. Probably right though. It would take ages to check every stamp and verify it's authenticity. Anyway, a completed MVS book needs to be seen and admired. It should never be entombed. Then again, you could say that about any comic really. Accept one with Byrne art. Entombing that would be a public service
  6. Ha! I like it Duffman. Yes, I pontificate on Valerie's paint job in the opening post of this thread, albeit rather more affectionately. I like the cover so much I decided to gloss over the seemingly colour blind colourists endeavours. And your woody observation is right up my alley. And Valerie's too I shouldn't wonder
  7. He looks like Tron doesn't he. Either that or he put it on inside out. Still, you winsome you lose some I guess....
  8. You just did, simply by joining in Mark. Sometimes, it's just nice to know someone else is out there
  9. One of the few pages you'd make an exception for I suppose The latter would make more sense - easier to confirm authenticity if you have more than the single page in question. Mebbe. Thanks for asking for us MG. I find it all quite interesting from a process point of view - what will and wont be done etc. I thought a few more people might chip in given whats been posted so far, but it seems this area is of little interest to people. Maybe it's all been said before. Thanks again mate
  10. Of the 650 million references I've seen about it online, not one says which book it's in, or who the artist is. You've created a monster Jay.
  11. Found a few more whilst looking for AUS copies: I can only find one version of this one shot: And the #3 of the 1-4 mini-series always seems to be newsstand UPC / the others picture:
  12. Work, Love-life, Miscellaneous (Warning: may include extraneous details....) So, what, no caption for the two snoggers bottom left? Doesn't seem fair does it. What are they, boring or something? Just two boring people having a snog. Well I'm sorry, but if Blondie gets a choice of Fred's 'jealousy' or a 'proposal', and Medical Man a 'winsome smile' exclusive, why can't our two love birds have something too? I mean, look at the yellow wallpaper in the background! And green curtains? I tell you, some people have no imagination. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. In real life, there's no way Daphne would be saying 'Clod' here. It would be a four letter word alright, but beginning with 'c' and ending in 't'. Yes, you've got it: Don't you hate people that are always ready with that 'one smile'. Same in every picture. "Quick Dave, the camera's on us" It's enough to give you a case of the thruppenies isn't it. Where do you start here? A rude awakening? A Man in a Lab Coat? Or the fact that someone is called 'Ward'? You can gaze forlornly out of the window all you like love. Ward is at it with your best mate and getting right in there. Face facts - he's a grade A bar steward. On the plus side, coupons worth $3.37 in this issue. Is it any wonder he's leaving her? The Mother-In-Law is a dwarf woman. What if it skips a generation and he ends up with dwarf kids? Not worth the risk. Remember - never leave meeting the Mother-In-Law to the day of the wedding. She may turn out to be a dwarf woman with a faulty gene that skips a generation and ruins your kids. Naah, they're not jealous bitches at all are they? From Rita Caxton to Tommy Caton. "Of course, I knew Tommy would never be anything more to me than the friend I played mudpies with in the sandbox all those years ago.... Nice car though. Ahh, what the hell, I'll do him anyway" Work, Love-life, Miscellaneous (...that you can't live without)
  13. It wasn't, it's still open: From the evidence, it looks like a moderator decided Golden Age was the wrong forum for a post with Golden Age content, so moved it from 'Golden Age' to 'Golden Age': They changed the thread title, adding 'REMOVED - posting guidelines' to it, to show the change in the Golden Age forum, and then forgot to delete that part from the actual thread itself in Golden Age. I think it's a called a mistake on top of a mistake. Possibly on top of a further mistake. The boards are so slow lately (I mean in performance terms) that maybe the mod got bored waiting for something to happen and gave up. Many of us are not that far behind them, if so
