  1. An update of the current confirmed pence printed price tally: Marvel - 3,017 confirmed pence priced variants (with very few more expected to be found - I have found another L Miller indicia variant though) DC - 839 confirmed pence priced variants (all known copies believed to be recorded) Charlton - 390 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 832 issues) Dell - 189 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 424 issues) Gold Key - 93 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 168 issues) Archie - 21 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 48 issues) King - 17 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 24 issues) Which means I have evidence of 4,566 first printing pence priced US comics at the moment! I've been looking at Harvey and IW Comics a little more and will post updates in a few weeks on the findings there.
  2. Afternoon Hold the thought, if you will, that I already own a copy of L'il Genius #34. It looks like this: Nice. Space Adventures #41 arrived today It was advertised as 'NM' but was, of course, not, and somehow survived some really quite inappropriate packaging to arrive looking thus: Being a sucker reasonable sort I decided not to query the grade and packaging. Most of my Charltons are Harry Lime grade anyway. But the seller, you see, softened the blow with a free comic! He also included, alas, a free dead spider Now, you're way ahead of me, I'm sure, and have already concluded that the free comic was L'iL Genius #34. Correct! Oh, by the way, at the London Fair on Sunday, I was missing a page of my notes and bought a Charlton book that I wasn't 100% sure I owned. Guess what one it was......
  3. Here she be... ...with a price of 9d: Looks good to me! I've been watching this copy on ebay for a while. It was up for £50 which was just too high for me to pay in the name of research. Then I remembered I'd purchased from the seller before, and he was a Cardiac fan. So I sent him this message: "Hello. Fellow Cardiac here again. Would you take a measley £30 for this crummy comic? No one else will love it like I will. If yes, a 'worthy of laudation' will be forthcoming. If no, it won't. I mean I want it and everything, but I could buy a car for £50. It wouldn't be the best car in the world, I grant you, but it would get me to Deptford and back I'm sure. Good bye" He replied: "You tale of woe has touched my aching heart. If only you'd stop making that hissing noise." There are so many advantages to being a Cardiac follower....
  4. They should be packed with care, yes. Given the fragility, it's case of having to.
  5. That's reference has gone right over my head Andrew! Aqualung? Is it a band? Tell me about it! And dodgy hips aside, there's no excuse for abstaining from soap and water for so long. To be fair, there are a few younglings who turn up. By that I mean 50 year olds. Ah, bless you AJD. I had hoped for a little more interaction on it, but am grateful that you managed to break through the cloaking device
  6. response ... Mike, That is correct. Ultimately it is up to the graders final decision. Regards Quite right too. Why have a consistent operational procedure / data recording guidelines when you can leave it up to the individual graders whim? I think the members of this forum have made it quite clear that these differences aren't important to them! At least you got a response Mike
  7. No Johnny Mathists in tonight I see. Usual drill
  8. Hulk likes Tales to Astonish. Tales to Astonish was good to Hulk. Featured Hulks stories. But if a two year old child should draw a terrible looking Hulk for Marvels Comic Index, and make Hulk look silly with big bulging ball bags, then Hulk will SMASH!
  9. Your welcome. Inserts are cool. There should be more threads about them
  10. Cor, they look good AJD. Nothing better than a great comic day is there. We'll done on the score - looking forward to seeing more, and also finding out what the 10 year wait book is
  11. I bet ComicConnoisseur gives a prize out when his journal gets to 15k. Or just 15.
