  6. Hello again Miami Rick It's not really the done thing to give out your email address to people you've only just met I'm afraid. Especially when you're under witness protection as I am (the mods are after me see for crimes against thread titles). But uploading pictures is really easy, and you'll need to learn how to do it if you want to get the best out of your time here. So, when you go to create a post, or reply to a post as you did just now, you'll see 'choose files' in the dialogue box like so: Assuming you're on your tablet, click on that 'choose files' link and it will open a box for you to select any files saved to your tablet. Give it a go - it's quick and easy once you know how Everyone will then dive in and tell you what your comics are worth. Be prepared for stinging criticism from some quarters though. Not everyone on here is as nice as I am
  7. That's a fat price fonted beauty pardner!
  8. Hello Rick, and welcome to the pleasure dome! Can you post some pictures or give us a list of what you have? As a rule, big lines of tape kill a book stone dead from a financial perspective, so it has to be something pretty special to warrant having it graded (on the basis that you're considering getting books graded for the purpose of investment that is). Most would call taped books 'reader copies' only. They can be loved and read, but they won't make you a major buck unless they're Amazing Fantasy 15 or similar. Also, if you taped them originally because they were becoming frayed, they're unlikely to be in good shape regardless of the tape. See if you can upload a picture. It's good to see nice old books in any shape
  9. What the yuck is he on about!
  10. What, I didn't win? Great contest DR.X and well done to all the winners, contributors and runners. See you next year!
  11. Hello @NormdaMarine Well done finding those newsstand Spideys One of the good things about posting questions on these boards is that you get a good spread of responses, and they often differ wildly. Many people will tell you the old chestnut that books are only worth what ever someone is willing to pay for them. That's generally true. Collectors interests differ however, and whilst many have zero interest in variations (e.g. newsstand vs direct, price variants etc) there are small groups who value them highly. I was once an Amazing Spidey completist myself and collected the newsstands avidly. Issue 559, like 694, was always a particularly hard book to find as a newsstand. A good few years back a few members of a completist group I was a part of would have snapped your hand off for the 559. I would have paid $100 without a second thought. Many would think that foolhardy. But I've learnt to never criticise a mans choice of wife, job or collecting habit. People will argue about the production ratios - some say newsstands of this period are as low as 2% of the total run, others say much higher. No one knows. What is clear however is how hard it is to find a newsstand book in comparison to its direct equivalent. Look on eBay and all the comic sites you know now for ASM #559, see what is available, then make up your own mind. In my opinion, the number of collectors who would compete for this book is small, and they have likely all now found a copy. There were $500 bounties out on 694 recently. But now that collector has his book, no one may ever pay that amount again. So my advice is to sit on these. You never know, one day they may become really hot as more and more collectors complete their runs and look to other avenues to continue collecting and feeding their crazy (oops) habits. Have a search for newsstands on here too - lot's of interesting threads about them, full of heartwarmingly person_without_enough_empathyy arguments and speculation. Good luck!
