  1. Very slow on and off today Mr Pontoon, yes. I've just noticed your custom title and, coming from the man who once (alas unsuccessfully) championed support for the 'D' word, I have to say I think it's excellent I also see that you are a mere member like me, given that you joined in 2006. Skypinkblu is also a member, having joined in 2005: Poor old Ken and Kirby Jack are also mere class of 2008 members: So I'm assuming Senormac has compromising photos of the admin team... ...and Robot Man must have threatened somebody! It's a good job Seasoned Veterans don't have special privileges or anything! Oh, hang on....
  2. Now then, what have we here.... The Hulk on drums... Thor has the horn.... The Surfer tinkling the ivories... The Falcon being very gay clapping his hands... And the result after one full listen? Listen to it on the tube of you, if you dare! Especially the Doc Ock track. And I thought Barnes & Barnes was rocking awful
  3. Depends how many old grannies you run over on crossings on the way. And whether you park legally or not when you get there. Entering the post office with a hood on and asking for cash whilst waving a shooter about can also have an impact.
  4. Cripes alive, a 4.5! Or thereabouts. Centre spine looks a little ropey. Cool cover though
  5. OK, I can see them now. Velly high grade your book looks. When they're this near perfect, it's difficult to add value from online pictures. 9.2, 9.4, 9.6, 9.11, it could be any of them. Good luck if you submit it. Hope it's nearer the top end.
  6. Yes. He doesn't like people watching him take a dump though. Which is pretty rich, given his name. Honestly, some people.
  7. That's not the Watcher is it? It looks like the Kingpin having a dump.
  8. You can read that two ways liz. Once those cheeks part, I'm outta here!
  9. Now this excellent. I like this guy. Talented with a spin. I can't help but smile when I imagine this Batman trying to do all the things a more, shall we say, agile Batman would otherwise do. I'd love to see him climb up the side of a building like Adam West used to. "Mum! There's a big fat guy in a suit outside the window. Mum!"
  10. Thanks Arch, for throwing me under the bus in the Captcha thread
  11. I know. I was being flippant, as usual. You're right, each generation has its era and that's what they will naturally gravitate to. Music is similar. In a few decades time, the younger guy will be our age and will be saying the same thing when he meets a younger guy who's 'mad about comics' but doesn't know who Stan Lee is. Or the Beatles. Etc. We can all love comics, but in different ways. Do you think I can get anyone even remotely interested in L Miller indicia variants? No, and this on a board with 35,000+ comic enthusiasts. But I know that a few people like the fact that I like it, so the support is there after a fashion. Funnily enough, every UK dealer I try to talk to about pence variants glazes over. You think I'd find a kindred spirit there wouldn't you. Maybe I'm just boring. Release the hounds!
  12. Yes, yes, that's all very well but what about fat Batman and his punch bowl packet @FSF ?
  13. You're welcome. Spidey books with stamps are cool. I see you asked this question in the SA section also, and you're probably get a response there. Last invite from me, to the man who knows everything on inserts - calling @awe4one
  14. Let's see if we can call on someone active who may know from the previous thread - @rjrjr - are you reading us! Good luck @JR Web-Head
  15. No, they're both too early for the inserts, which first appeared in ASM 96 (National Diamond Sales lingerie insert) but I'm guessing the star relates to where they were sold - link here to a previous question: I'm sure someone here will know for sure and chip in soon.
  16. I don't know for sure, but these star stamps often appeared on books with Mark Jewelers inserts in them so it may be connected to military bases where those books were sold?
  17. Thank God that Skrull's in the way because the Thing's got no pants on
