  1. Yes, it's fun plotting the stamp / sticker types and seeing how they match up. I've studied what I call the 'second' T&P phase for Charlton in this respect - example below - and the use of branded and unbranded stamps, and also stickers, is quite consistent across the titles during the 72~77 five year window: The use of stickers to reprice already dual UK/US priced books stands out quite clearly here too. All good fun
  2. Morning all We're up to 68 participants so far with 82 places left to fill. I like to have a bit of laugh every time I finish above the King of Australia, @AJD (which, incidentally, is every time) but Yozzer @Yorick is off my Christmas card list now following his outrageous 'Fall' in 2022 for which he will never be forgiven. Never! So, why not give it a go, if you're reading this? What have you got to lose apart from your dignity and reputation? And you could win 500 dead presidents (see - I may be from Englandville but I know my Americanisms) Let's be 'aving ya!
  3. Ta. I've got a new theory about the 71 PV's which I think will sit better on the distribution thread (with a link here), but I think I can add something about the 78 PV's which you will like (though it's a bit fuzzy). Found it! I started an exercise a while back to track the final 'T&P' stamped cents copies and used my original UKPV spreadsheet to capture the results. Extract here: I plotted the stamps as branded (B) and unbranded (U) - not sure how the results fit in with your observations posted earlier. As you can see, it was a work in progress.... ...and I haven't done it for all titles yet. This kind of thing is quite time consuming - gathering stamped images, filing them and then plotting them - and time is something I seem to have less and less of lately. Well, to potter on comics anyway. Looking forward to seeing who you think solicited the 71 pence copies and why. I can't look back on it, as you haven't posted it yet....
  4. Richard, thehumantorch has 'tagged' CGC Mike as he works for CGC and, as well as managing the forum here, he often helps members with issues like the one you have described above. He's on holiday for a week now though so won't respond for at least that period. You clearly have already spoken to CGC agents on the phone so the only other thing I can suggest is that you post your question again in the 'Ask CGC' forum which you will find here: https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/23-ask-cgc/ CGC customer service staff like @MattM CS and @NickiO CS review that forum and they may be able to help you there, if indeed they don't respond directly to the tags I've just made here. Good luck.

  9. They want to keep us confused, so we don't know where to go and therefore see and impulse buy more items. It's deeply annoying. I think you just signed your own death warrant, Eric
  10. Death to supermarket shelf rotation! And death to those who say there's a reason for it, and that it is to get us to buy more things!
  11. I don't like change for change's sake, or change that makes things worse - as it all too often does - but this is an improvement in my book. It's not a very big book, mind. And it's a pence copy

  15. Agreed. But with an average of only 100 participants, it's entirely possible you could win $500 by throwing darts blindfold at a grading scale along with the rest of us
  16. I really like the new image preview feature in the All Activity screen. I find I'm reading more posts because of it:
  17. Has anyone ever been taken aforward, I wonder? I think I've posted this somewhere already Richmond. I'll see if I can find it
