  1. What's not to love? Impressive work, no I dare say a labor of love.Wonderful Scott thank you for posting.
  2. I wonder if any of the sandwich delivery kids have their original art page tips ha ha. Imagine giving Stan Lee a pastrami sandwich and he hits you with an interior 60's or 70's page? Complete conjecture in 3..2.. 1 ..Steve Ditko knew about the AF 15 but he wasn't the donor. Is there anyone else that thinks maybe Stan Lee had those pages. Ditko and Lee agree to donate? End of sleuthing conjecture no facts to back up...just thinking aloud. John Romita acknowledges he never knew art would be coveted by more than just a handful of die hard collectors. But you have the careful cataloging for a year. You have bundles of art disappear. There are a handful of people that have flashed quality pieces that could have come from "removal" from the Marvel offices. This is so intriguing. When I first started collecting in the mid nineties ````No facts to back up I heard stories of bundles of art tossed in garbage bins or walked out the back door. I have no proof pure conjecture: some dealer or collector posses never before seen covers and pages from key issues. We haven't seen them because legal challenge- threats have come and gone. It's a waiting game. It is what it is. If we can do anything to help the artist we should. For example buy a commission from Neal Adams rather than buy his examples from an ebay flipper. As a collector I know these once "worthless" art pages have tremendous value because lunatics like myself have created a monster throwing cash at them.
  3. Thank you and again congratulations. Putting a book together is near impossible. However it's the during your journey, not necessarily the final outcome that you can decide how to experience this quest. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders.I truly hope you get every page. If I find a Spec 21 page I'll direct you to it (and no finder's fee necessary) although offering that fee goes to show how determined you are to get this done.Bravo! Enjoy the victory. grape ape-mike in sunny southern california

  6. Post. "This thing of ours" dies without joy. Sharing opinions, comments about art is the blood pumping through the veins.I went on CAF and saw the McFarlane. Made my day. Post post post...;.
  7. Congrats...ha ha I need to put my glasses on. The post below I wrote "hope you got it" and right in front of me you did. Wow that's great congratulations.
  8. My finger was on the trigger but I couldn't do it too ya buddy.I was tracking this page along with Spectacular 66 page 19. The morning of auction I searched Spec 21 on the CGC boards and others to try to figure out what to bid. I saw your post about trying to get pages from this issue....so I lost out on the Spec 66 page and the Spec 21 was 52 spots ahead...I decided to lay off. I loved the page but I didn't have the same emotional attachment to it that you did. I truly hope you got it.If you didn't don't beat yourself up...Isn't this a great way to spend your "free' time? best grapeape-mike in sunny southern california

  14. Charles Vess Spiderman black costume introduced in 1984's The Amazing Spider-Man #252, later revealed to be the alien symbiote Venom. The drawing is on a sheet of drawing paper approximately 13 3/4" x 10 7/8" and has been carefully stored for decades in a smoke-free home. It was acquired in person from artist Charles Vess at the San Diego Comic-Con in 1985.
