  1. If all the people who bought in the last few years were to panic and flood the market with that same “unfresh” material we’ve seen auctioned off, they most certainly would contribute to a sky is falling mentality. Lets hope on some level those who bought actually love or at least appreciate the art for its own sake. I think it’s prudent to spend within your means. Or It sure feels like we entered into a recession. I’m begging you guys not to spend the next ten pages of this thread debating that point. I’m saying there is no reason to take part in a sell off blood bath should prices fall over the next number of years. You should have a few out strategies to get you and your family through whatever is coming. If you’re taking losses on recently bought (overbought?) art to offset the pressures of inflation/stagflation in your household you probably didn’t do this right. Im optimistic that the bones of the art collecting foundation are strong and I can see cooling off but not collapse *caution grapeape is not a financial advisor just a guy with some time on his hands and a keyboard close by. 2. Do you have a pic? Or the link?
  3. If it was Bigfoot or the Lochness Monster I think bidding would be higher. Minus SNIKT action I’d guess it will make the paddle hands heavier to rise to the auctioneers call. Still it’s Trimpe, it’s Hulk,,,. its a cover,,.
  4. I wish you could’ve got it back then. It’s tough to just miss out on a piece that means something to you.
  5. When I was at SDCC this was in one of the display cases and it was a piece I noticed got a lot of 👀
  6. Sal Abbinanti was the seller. Maybe he has contact info and would pass along your message without breaking confidentiality. Good luck
  7. 🍇 🦍 👍 1—. Quote & Reply 👍 Wow, the birthing page and first appearance of a Marcus Wai comment on a page in my gallery. This is a HISTORIC moment in the recorded legends of original art lore. A Marcus Wai comment should be treasured like a Wonka golden ticket. It’s a damn sight better than money these days the way it’s printed like copy paper at Dunder Mifflin. 👍 WAITING FOR A MARCUS WAI COMMENT IS LIKE WAITING FOR THE LATEST OPENING MOMENTS OF A DOUBLE O SEVEN FILM 👍 0 0 7 👍 Marcus Wai 2024 🇺🇸 👍 Baller 👍
  8. Yeah that’s great. I’ve also enjoyed the portfolios attendees bring and private sale opportunities that arise between collectors. I think that’s the right idea but let’s add even more exhibitors and consistency to build up attendance. Mitch we’ll have to come visit you on your side of the country.
  9. I agree with all of that. Out west Bechara has hosted the LA show with original art about twice a year for the last 3-4 years. I would like a lot more out of LA but I do enjoy the art only experience. I love seeing Mike Mignola there and Rob Liefield was there. Now if Bechara could attract an artists row/alley for a weekend that would be something Next the LA show needs more art showing that’s not online already. So that would mean a shout out to some of you guys to set up as exhibitors with a few portfolios of fresh unseen art you might trade or sell. Would Bechara make room in the circle of trust? I say no charge to the collector exhibitors!! But maybe the guys in the room wouldn’t want competition? I think they’d like a shot at seeing art come out so it could work for everyone. Thats the west coast grass roots. I can’t speak for my home turf NYC 🍎 I’ve been gone to long.
  10. I didn’t see Glen Brunswick. Sadly haven’t seen Conrad E for years I believe for health reasons. Otherwise I saw quite a bit of art. I found a real art treasure in a booth that was 99.8% comics. You never know what you’ll find at the Con. I understand the problems some of the dealers have encountered with SDCC. Gene was also saying maybe him and his friends wouldn’t come so much anymore. I hope that’s not true. I think the venue is still a vibrant atmosphere for promoting and pursuing comic art. I was taking pics of the Heritage display and a young man about 21 was staring at the art. I redirected his eyes and pointed at the TOS 39 page. “That’s the very first appearance of Ironman in a comic book right there on that page.” The guy immediately became transfixed and pulled his iPhone out taking multiple pics. He called out to his friends who were sifting through comics in a booth across the way. They all ran over and he explained to them what he was looking at. They all got excited and started taking pics.it brought me so much joy. I missed Mitch and I hope he comes back some day but it seems like his mind is made up. I respect that. I’d also like to meet a lot of you guys also. 🍇 🦍
  11. Prices confuse me. I prefer the ambiguity of the inquiry.
  12. It’s time to update mikes picture in my phone contacts. Jeepers Creepers, should I list him under Morbius the Living Vampire?
  13. A historic “birth” page. Interesting. I don’t know enough about him. Is Jake Gallows a big deal in Marvel? The Marvel Universe? I’ve seen my share of creative salesmanship What do you all think?

  17. All of your preventative suggestions are appreciated. I am truly sorry you guys went through this. ☀️ the good news is you all are safe and unharmed. That’s a happy ending. Please give us updates when you can. I’m hoping you have a roof over your head for family including pets. Please keep your chin up. I know losing those comics and some art plus all the 🏡 damage is painful. You guys are in my prayers for a complete recovery. That’s for mind, body and spirit. Hang tough. 🍇 🦍
