  1. Blasphemy ShallowDan. Ixnay on the kickthephantomstranger!!! signed Phantom Stranger Nation
  2. The only page from that issue I’ve seen sell was back in 2003 at Heritage. Good luck I’m sure it’s out there but it might take awhile to uncover.
  3. HFS!!!!!!!!!! BWS greatness that’s a nice move positioning this against the auctions in progress. I wish I had the budget!!!
  4. I pissed myself on that one. My Sunday slacks ruined you clown 😂
  5. Shhh don’t help them!! Haha 😆 And don’t tempt us 😂 Nah you’re right but watch the next eBay auction where example: Sh**l*B**d*r666 with (3) feedbacks continually “bumps” up bids. Many of our worst fears are real and they play out on eBay in particular every freaking day.
  6. That was likely a commission drawing maybe from the eighties.
  7. It’s a page that would do really well auction style with competitive bidding but the reserve smells like fear. I believe this reserve may infect potential buyers with that fear or doubt. Feel free somebody to prove me wrong. Classic Kirby page from a classic issue.
  8. Haha with the Eddie Murphy connection it should’ve been gumbydarnit to drop that line!!!
  9. Too late..... you’re started....so dish! HA....... do they juice? Get it off your chest man!
  10. GOT those two images would draw the dollars. 🐉 and White Walker. Thanks for bringing this up.
  11. That soulless cheat needs a phone book to the forehead metaphorically speaking as the 🦍 abhors violence.
  12. I have a Kirby Surfer so yeah I’ll take a Moebius. oh you mean.....choose? Kirby is the father of his invention John Buscema the nurturing uncle of angst and isolation Moebius....the prophetic...might be the one who truly saw the future world where the Surfer actually exists The answer lies in the wisdom that there is no answer Ommmmmmmmmmmmmm
  13. I have to stop being lazy and become a premium member and support Bill. I love CAF. Am I the only one who thought it was pronounced CAF (See Ay Ef) before hearing Bill Cox call it (Calf.) ???? 🦍 shrinks away fearing a 1000 duh 😒 faces coming his way.
  14. Yeah, you know if a painting like this came up twenty years ago for $50,000 I still would’ve struggled to pull the trigger. Once you have to commit these type of funds you become super picky. Unless this is a piece a person with means has always desired, or it’s an experiment to find a price, I’m going to bet against a million dollar sale. I do like it a lot. Hell it’s a Frazetta. Let’s see what happens.
  15. It feels like there is an attempt to set the floor on these types of pieces at $1M. As much as I love Frazetta that’s a lot of moolah from the cooler. My guess is that the reserve prices almost all of us here out of the running? Even if you have the money it’s a lot of eggs to place in one collecting basket.
  16. Gee I don’t have the legal knowledge some of you guys do. And I’m not sure when that sale took place. That being said I’m almost 100% sure there’s no claim for additional monies here. I think when you’re selling something for $300 and a buyer offers $5000...you’d be hard pressed to claim that you made a mistake and didn’t get a fair value. I would assume the onus was on the seller the minute he was offered substantially higher then what he was asking. That is: to research and determine if he was making a fair profit. Ok I have to stop because I’m not a legal eagle. I’m getting dizzy thinking about this.
  17. On the Comic Art Live #18 Mike Burkey (1:11:30) said he found the Incredible Hulk 102 cover on ebay. The guy had it listed at $300 and as a HULK PRINT. Mike saw whiteout and took a chance offering the guy $5,000 to sell it out right. The guy accepted saying he owned a record store and the art was sitting in a box. I wonder if he ever had the cover hanging up in his record store? If Romitaman sees this I hope he has a pic of that art or more details on the find. Apparently there were 2-3 versions of the cover. Mike has the transforming version. Eric Roberts had one version.
  18. John Romita Sr. 1972 Rockomic Album poster 22 1/4 x 22 1/4 professionally framed. My first visit to a small record store in Southern California paid dividends. I went through hundreds of records and found myself in the very back of the store. I found this poster taped (egads!!) to the wall out of site. I inquired and was told by a store employee it was the owners and he would never sell. A phone call and $40 later made the poster mine. This poster came inside a Spider-Man album released in1972. I remember the album and poster from my childhood. I just never see this poster anywhere so I had it framed. Ok. I know. Poster. From a record. Found in record store. What’s so strange? I love records grew up with them. Been to so many record stores in my life. I just never see this poster so it was great to discover it.
  19. That’s exactly one of the things I was hoping for Glen thanx. Comic art showing up in a surprising place.
  20. Jingle All the Way was a surprisingly amusing film. I remember the unexpected thrill I felt when I saw this mural in the kids room during a scene in the movie!
