  1. It does appear to be read more than once. I think a 2.5
  2. It seems to me that there is a major difference at CGC to acquire a 3.5 grade. 4.5 is getting more and more common as a median grade. It seems to me it used to be a 5.0. Now, it feels like the comic really needs to be beaten up to get into the 3.0+ range.
  3. the missing color corner really brings it down. 6.0- 6.5 I don't know how CGC handles isolated damage.
  4. Well I would think that "Young Avengers" Pence variant would be entirely generated from a boarding school replete with nasty hazing.
  5. this leaves out the critical factor of how well it was hidden from Mom.
  6. When you think a book is that clean, I'd suggest going and buying the best current one you can find that is brand new this month. Be picky. Take it home and begin to compare it to all of the other books you think will pull a high grade. Be picky. 9.0 is actually a difficult grade to achieve. Most 9.0 and above have never been read. Even so..9.4 is way harder. When Bob Storms was up here, he encouraged me to look at a book upside down. It really changed the perspective in viewing it. Things jumped out. Look it over in back light if you can to see watermarks or staining. Backlight shows if a book has been fussed with. In general, he told me I graded about a point too high. I'm far fussier now and the range that gives me the most fits is between 4.0 and 5.5. 6.0 is really a very nice book. 7.0 and up are remarkably clean and shiny.
  7. even just with the frornt. Some substantial tearing and what appears to be water damage. Cover close to detached 3.0- maybe less with more pics. I never did get Sub mariner. He appeared to have anger issues.
  8. It's kind of crunchy. I saw this comic of which I have owned two, over at High grade in a 9.4. Bob was asking $7,500.00 which surprised me. So, indeed clean it up and slab if your intent is to sell. I don't think it does any better than a 4.5-5.0, maybe worse. Crunchy, like I said.
  9. I don't see the back cover in my grade evaluation. It remains a 5.0 The color breaks on the red background are not eye candy.
  10. CGC clearly needs to create a mid grade called "ish" It could have a meme of a waffle.
  11. not 6.0. Not stain. Chunk, crease. , hmmm.. not a 9.0....spin wheel. 4.5
  12. Please produce better pictures, out of the bag and with detail. The bottom section doesn't necessarily say foxing but it cries out for detail. It does have a bad wrap. Good corners and no apparent checks at the spine.
