  1. Terminator books are actually not easy to find. When I went to the shop last weekend, I asked the owner if he had any. For some reason I'm missing several issues of the Now ongoing series.  I do have the mini series though. I have no idea why I never picked up all the issues back then.

I did forget to mention the Malibu series also. I know there were a few. I do have all them. Again, the store owner had nothing. They probably should sell higher than they do, but then I'd be paying alot for the ones I'm missing. :)

  2. The other day when buying all those comics I came across one Turok newsstand, but it was in such terrible shape I left it. Next time I go there, I may look in his Valiant boxes. If the hurricane isn't here on Saturday, I may also go to another dealer who has cheap Valiant and take a peek at what he has. I'm putting together a stockpile for the future and hopefully there will be some better activity for all this.

  3. I'm surprised it graded at an 8.5 too. Small crease bottom right corner and top right corner breaks color, at least 1 stress line left middle that breaks color. Would've dropped it one grade. Someone may have felt generous. Good for you though.

Problem is that people having a choice of 8.5 copies if you sell it would probably choose another over that one just for the small piece out. I'd rather have a small crease on the back cover than a small piece out personally.

  4. Seeing/hearing about a couple of copies of Image ns does not make them common at all. Not sure which Gen 13 #1 you are referring to, but I passed on a #1 ongoing because it was really beat, probably a VG at best and didn't think it would be worth storing. Not sure how many ns I have picked up in the past year, but I don't think it's more than 50-60 different issues total. Definitely not a lot.

its not about detailed notes, my issue is very specific - I would like to see notes on 9.6 books especially if you provide them on some (of the same book) on the same invoice.

I think most of those would be "very light spine stress lines", possibly with a "breaks color".

  6. The higher tiers will get more notes, logically usually due to more flaws. But it's more important why that Fantasy 15 is a 4.5 and not a 6.5, so the owner should have more details about the flaws. There are many hidden flaws like those stains inside the cover that will bring down the grade and you may scratch your head and wonder why. You look at an encapsulated 9.4 but the grade says 8.0. You should be able to know that there is a nickel size stain on the inside front cover that can't be seen on the outside. Most times are due to the fact the stain is behind some dark section on the front cover.

As for more comprehensive notes by paying extra for them? I doubt that is going to happen, at least any time soon. People complain as it is about the turn around times, even though the majority are still on time. 40 business days is a long time and a few months ago, the turnaround times were about 10-15 days on things like economy and value.

  7. I personally like small press from the 1980s and 1990s. I just bought a few new issues and others to fill in a run yesterday for about 20 cents each. I think there are a lot of fun books out there and genre that will bring enjoyment to reading.

I think any Marvel fan should get one of these. Especially at the low price it's now going.

Damn that is sweet.  Would you say 9.4?

Front looks like a 9.4 by the length/color break of the 2 stress lines. What does the back look like? Could be a 6.5 if it has a nice sub crease on the back. :)

  9. Spine stress lines are 99% of your grades in 9.6 or higher. The fewer the better. Breaking color will matter too, as whether they are on the front spine or back. Very small creases about a small spine stress will usually equal a stress line rather than a crease. Also the lightest of bends may still yield 9.6 or possibly a 9.8 depending on how light and low long. Use different light sources at different angles to see stress lines or bends. Interior defects (pages) don't count for much unless they are extreme (like a 1" tear on a page or such).
