I’d assume the entire purpose of this trade is to make your collection as liquid as possible without having a capital gain?  For the buyer it’s really no different than a cash buy so I’d expect an offer for your books of between 10% and 50% of raw value depending on condition and what key books lie therein. Sounds like a non taxable event for you if you can make it happen. Good luck.

Bartering is taxable. Google search "is barter income taxable" for more info.

SDCC video showed Kang walking on stage in a stylish 3/4 robe. Looking forward to trilogy of MCU films linking Kang to Dr. Doom then backwards to Rama-tut timeline vs. newer Avengers team (Ms. Marvel, Kamala Kahn, lady Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Iron Heart, She-Thor, and the Wasp) with a cameo by Mrs. and Mrs. Valkyrie (King and Queen).

Not even one token male on the new Avengers team?

Speedcake, you should definitely send in some books, but you're going to get hooked.

What other business situation exists where for a 10% cut the absolute market leader will allow me to piggyback on their success while they shoulder all of the work and risk of running a world-class business as I sit around and collect a check every week?

Anyone who sells on Bay while MCS exists is just doing it wrong. I'm so outspokenly Team Lone Star because if MCS doesn't exist then I simply stop doing comic books...and I don't want to stop.

Just don't send MCS high dollar raw comics. You don't want your 6.5 Strange Tales #110 to get graded 4.5 by them, for example, and leave thousands of dollars on the table.

So with these books (including mine) sitting for over a year at CGC's warehouse since first delivered, and then being transported/shuffled to the new warehouse, what assurance do we have that the books were not mishandled in any way?

What assurance do you have that you will even still be alive by the time they get around to grading them?

Have any of you noticed this?

Submitting multiple of the same book has a bug in the "Declared Value" total?

I submitted 3 of a book, in this case  1979 Warp Elfquest 1, and I said $300 for total value, and when it got registered as a submission, it showed up as a $900 total.   Just a wierd thing that could be improved on submission form right?

You are supposed to enter the value of 1 book, not the value of all 3 books. That is why it multiplies your entry by 3.

  6. I have zero interest in watching a TV show where the main character uses sign language with subtitles. When I'm watching a TV show, I'm not capable of paying enough attention to the bottom of the screen with my eyes for me to notice the subtitles showing up in time to actually read it all. By the time I notice the subtitle popped up and then start reading it, the subtitle goes away before I am able finish reading it. I end up missing half of the dialog. Yeah, sure, I can rewind and watch it again, but that just ruins the flow, pacing, and enjoyment.

Same thing happened to me in the Eternals movie, ruining it.

Just to comment on the last line, I'm not necessarily saying its wrong but its just my general gut feeling is that theres a lot more interest in signed comics than "most people have little to no interest". I went to try and find some sort of measurable way to look at this, so I decided to try searching "cgc comic universal" and "cgc comic signed" sold listing amount and there were 10x more results for signed sold listings. Not trying to pass this off as hard proof of anything since I'm sure not all cgc blue label listings are listed as universal (like if I decided to search cgc yellow label I only get about 30 results), but I think saying most people have no interest in buying signed comics is a stretch.  edit: and to be more fair, since I searched universal, to be a fair comparison I should have searched 'cgc comic signature' for signed books which only gets 1300+ results, which is still more than universal but not to such a drastic degree

edit2: actually to be even more fair, I forgot about the existence of raw books for a second which I think would skew things completely in the other direction. Don't know how I overlooked that, I might be mentally compromised while writing this sorry lol

Most people don't put the word "Universal" in their Ebay listing, so your search isn't accurate. Try searching for CGC comic to get the total amount sold, and then subtract the CGC signed comics from that number. You'll find CGC comics sold that aren't signed is over 100,000.
