  1. ...from Uncanny X-Men #212... ...30% finder's fee will be paid upon successful completion of acquisition...
  2. This is 'easy' to do when seeing them in person. It can be less 'easy' when their consignments are entered across online auction venues...see those 'Featured' listings ending today...
  3. The Sprang piece is BEAUTIFUL, however, the 'changes' that have been made, and instincts suggest that 'we' can all guesstimate correctly just WHOM made them, taint the 'value' of this DPS forevermore...IMHO...
  4. Mike Deodato's Wolverine Origins #28, pgs. 9 & 10 ALL graphite, unsigned ...Here's to 1 year of posting on the boards!!
  5. I upgraded my copy of Showcase #55 last year. The under copy was graded, CGC 4.5...
  6. Agreed. Full disclosure...I was the underbidder...
  7. Another local original art commentator identified the Master of Kung Fu #116 cover which 'sold' [cheaply?] in the same HA auction, as having the same problem...just replace 'Conan' with Mr. Chi... Wasn't this issue, cover & interior pages, 'sold' privately last year?
  8. Regarding the 'large' John Byrne Fantastic Four #257 page 10, which was markered, not inked with 'conventional' India-type inks, & currently at auction with CLink...I 'see' areas/panels that appear to be 'glowing' as an artifact of chemicals from the marker having begun to leech or bleed...
  9. The page is certainly not fake... Check out Kochcomicart.com I have previously purchased art from Pete, et. al., & highly recommend them...
  10. And then, we add Sales Tax...presumably... If we only knew which rate to use...
  11. ...from left to right, Catherine Jones (Jeff Jones), Michael Kaluta, Barry Windsor Smith, Berine Wrightson...
  12. These pictures were acquired in a collection many years ago... ...and found one matching image during a quick Google search...were these pictures sold or widely distributed back in the day? (Apologies for not having scanned the pictures before posting)
  13. Does anyone here have the image of the specific page in question which can be shared?... During 2019, will the number of 'speculation' buyers for 'key' & 'semi-key' pages of Charlie Adlard drawn Walking Dead pages (continue to) significantly decrease?... I guesstimate that a significantly larger amount of 'speculation money' in the original comic book art market will continue to go elsewhere in pursuit of a higher ROI?... For the same money, I would rather buy a decent Master of Kung Fu cover than a couple/few 'key' or 'semi-key' pages of Charlie Adlard drawn Walking Dead art...
  14. Reserves, if any, post 2/14/2019...and after one day of 'thrill' bidding... Ms. Marvel #19, approaching $12k... Ms. Marvel #4, approaching $8k...
  15. More often than not, I agree that this is demonstrated to be the norm... The lack of or lower seller's comission percentage rate can be determined by sales volume over time & not just on one or more 'big pieces'...Suppose that a potential consignor, established client or not, has a dozen ~$400 pieces of art. It is hypothesized that this person could successfully 'negotiate' a seller's comission well below 15%. But, they would be required to 'negotiate'...
  16. There are persons who do not get hit with 15%... Some of these persons actively arbitrage between auction venues...and apparently 'flip' profitably...
  17. I 'found' this ad page in the back of the Uncanny X-Men issue...
  18. The hologram is BLACK with zero traces of any holographic image or colors... Who knows what? When did they know it? Valuation estimates?
  19. Are these two focused 'art cons' SIMILAR to the comic book cons & shows where nearly all of the dealers have already pillaged each other's 'better value' material before the doors even open to the naive paid attendees? What is the likelihood of 'all' the 'cheaper'/'better value' Mignola sketches being bought up by Synder, et. al. before the show opens? I am interested in attending one of these focused 'art cons'...
  20. ...purchased these Spawn newsstand editions in a small collection yesterday, on New Year's Day...
  21. ...learn to grade like CGC graders do... ...send in all of your 9.8 'candidates'... ...send in all of your 9.6 'candidates'... ...send in the rest... ...Enjoy.
