  1. Some absolutely awesome covers!
  2. another book on the list. Assuming this is Spy Smasher #2?
  3. Always had a fondness for that comic. So much so, in fact, that I had the original artist (Ken Bald) pencil a recreation of the cover Very cool!
  4. Any copy of FC #16 is a good copy to have!
  5. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll have to see if I can track down a copy. Pick it up, it’s very cool, and from what I get it’s only the beginning (David Gerstein is quite a fan). Also, if you love the original Phantom Blot classic, and you have never read the Scarpa's follow-up, look for the Mickey and Donald (first Gladstone series) early issues (I believe they were 6-7-8). Here’s the splash page of #6: I may have those issues.
  6. March of Comics #20! Congratulations on a great book! Thanks. I just love the ducks. I coll Early Actions and sups but when i see these cheap you cant go wrong. So true! I collect WW II cover Timelys but I cannot resist a cheap duck book. Or a high-grade one. Or a cheap, high-grade one!
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll have to see if I can track down a copy.
  8. March of Comics #20! Congratulations on a great book!
  9. I have never noticed the dog on this cover before. Great Christmas cover and a great book! Congratulations!
  10. It would have been amazing if Gottfredson had been able to draw this story for the comic book format. It has so many memorable drawings and sequences that just cry out for what would undoubtedly have been classic splash panels. I can just envision Gottfredson working late hours by his desk, trying to outdo himself with each of the brilliant assassination scenes. You only get a masterpiece of this scale from someone who is not only supremely talented, but also truly passionate about their work. I got to inspect a CGC 9.2 copy of Four Color 16 during an inspection in Dallas and it was one of the most memorable Golden Age Disney books, I have ever seen. I can only imagine what seeing that 9.2 would have been like! this is one of my favorite stories and I have never owned a copy.
  11. He he, yup, pulled out my copy of SOTI, and under the B/W pic of the cover it's captioned, "Caricature of the author in a position comic-book publishers wish he were in permanently". Truer words have never been spoken, bwahahahaha! Its a pretty good likeness of Wertham!
  12. Wow! That's an awesome cover. Never seen that one before. Love the feeling the painting style gives to it. Yeah, I've never seen this one before either. Very nice!
  13. Really cool interiors! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Daredevil (Vs. Hitler) #1 for $700 in Mint!
