  1. I'm not buying from IG. Tried but I found the posting to be confusing and out of order. Facebook is too much like flea markets. Fun for a cheap weekend but I sure as hell am not going to buy the type of books I usually buy there. The rule can stand but it needs to be reinterpreted according to the actual law and terms. This should be perfectly acceptable: Amazing Spider-Man #101 vg $257.50 via Paypal/ $250 Money Order/Check.
  2. I've never seen them in the same place together at the same time.
  3. It says you cannot charge a surcharge which, legally, is a fee added to a stated price. By law, you can still offer a discount which cannot be against the terms of service and if you read carefully you can see that Paypal does not say you cannot discount the price. You just cannot say a preference for any other method of payment. This also means that everyone saying Paypal not accepted for purchases above a certain amount goes against Paypal's terms of service. It is all or nothing. You must treat Paypal the same as cash BUT you can discount the stated price for cash. you just cannot raise the stated price for Paypal at the point of sale. The price at the checkout must be the same as stated, or lower; anything else is a surcharge and against the terms and the law.
  4. If this was later than 2010 then it did not violate your vendor credit card agreements or Paypal. You were not in violation of rule 10. I wonder how we get rule 10 scrapped or reinterpreted.?
  5. 10) You cannot post in a way that violates the terms of service for your payment methods. (NOTE: Specifically, no surcharges for accepting PayPal, or discounts for other methods) Hmm, seems like a simple misunderstanding of the "Durben Rule" Basically, the seller cannot charge more than the listed price but can offer a discount. Amazing Spider-Man #101 VG $250 unless via PayPal or credit card and then add 3%. This is not allowed because you are charging more at the register/check out method than the listed price. Instead use: Amazing Spider-Man #101 VG $257.50 via Paypal/ $250 money order/check. This is allowed in all merchant credit card agreements and is enforced by law through U.S.C. §1602(r). If you wish to offer a cash discount it must be a true discount of the listed price and not an increase of the listed price to cover credit card fees. Basically, the boards have not been doing this right for 11 years.
  6. I always sell here before anywhere else. Where in the rules does it say you cannot offer a cash discount? I know Paypal Friends and Family is not allowed for various reasons but the seller should be able to offer any discount desired. Maybe the rule is a holdover for when offering a cash discount violated the merchant credit card agreements. That is no longer the case, merchants can offer discounts for cash to discourage credit cards, so maybe the rule should be eliminated?
  7. Its fun to get outside your niche every once in a while and you picked some nice books!
  8. Its a great cover but whaaaa? Saudi oil money I guess.
  9. You are the only one, besides me, that has a 6.5. Looks like there is a 7 and a couple of 8s on the census. Imagine the feeding frenzy if one of those came up for sale.
  10. Looks like a very nice run! Gotta ask though, what shape is the #6 in?
  11. scared abbreviation for those from japan to scared Germans
  12. The big difference is that while you will still catch the virus, even with the vaccine, the vaccine is so far 100% effective at keeping you out of intensive care. If we do not have to worry about grandma dying because we went to a comic convention, then yeah, things will trend back to normal. Masks will still be worn and there will probably be social distancing in restaurants but not overwhelming our hospitals and killing our elderly will be a huge step forward and will allow a large lurch back to pre-pandemic normal. Get vaccinated or go catch the virus; either way, you will be helping the world.
