i'm told mine will now qualify for a conserved holder; i think i'll bear that expense and do it, as should i decide to divest, it would likely help out my bottom-line.

    beautifully preserved  book 🙌🙌🙌

Would look great a Conserved label

  2. Only time will tell. We need an unrestored that presents well to come to auction.   30 unrestored copies and 63 total… So rare. Also its book that is usually held for a long time. So we havent seen many come to market.

I think it of it as always as a  3rd  place after AC1 and TEC27

With Submariner and maybe Torch the golden age being introduced to the MCU… And maybe a nod with someone reading an MC1 with Chris Evans seeing the exploits of these two

Yeah pretty crazy price for it.  It seems like a kid took his/her colored marker and just filled in all the white spots with blue, red, etc lol.  I feel like there may be some misinformed bidders out there with regards to restoration and what the letters and numbers mean.  I can maybe understand if the restoration was done professionally (A), but a C!?  crazy times

    C for crazy times lol

All hail Marvel Comics 1 craziness

As someone who collects both, I won't 100% sign onto this. If you give me the option of Action 1 or the T206, I'm choosing the T206. If you give me the T206 or AF15, it's the former. Some sports cards are so rare, and so universally known, that they overcome even the best comic books.

Im sure everyone doesnt Know Superman or Batman.

    Everyone knows Wagner...

    Hes also dead. Rip.

Wagner had a big head start value wise.

    Supes and Bats live forever

Also its a comic book forum so gotta go with its holy grail.

Action #1 pages will always be in demand.

But the fewer copies parted out, the greater the desire for the single-pages made available.

I highly doubt that people will part there complete copies. What we saw is people parting there incomplete copies. Also see that pages stay in collections. The Two Action 1  cover swipes.. never resold. 2016 was a brittle page and 2019 was a  off white to white.  i only saw the page 2 resell and all the rest also have never resurfaced.

25K is a lot easier to swing than 100K.

But for every copy the is disassembled, it has the potential to impact the prices realized for individual pages across the board by increasing the supply.

7 Superman pages and 25 non-Superman pages per complete-coverless copy.

One of the reasons one can justify paying well over five-figures for a single page is because of how few of them have become available.

singles pages are rare. This is not af15 Action 1 is rare and demand is high. Singles pages  are rare and in demand.
As per anything under 100k  cream to off white i would be a buyer.  I dont think im the only one.

I think A complete coverless is a Holy grail  just as much as single pages.  it serves its purpose for collectors budget.

All rare in their own right and they have been good good investments for long time holders

    Hey guys,

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about anything in comics, so I’d like to share my latest acquisition with all of you. It’s an original Action Comics #1 front cover fragment—just the “No. 1.”

It originated from a scrapbook that Heritage authenticated years ago. While it’s easy to cringe at the thought of someone cutting up an Action Comics #1, this fragment probably wouldn’t have survived the test of time without someone making a conscious effort to preserve it.

I’ve owned single Superman pages from Action Comics #1 and all of them have been incredible. But this as on another level and is probably as close as I’ll ever get to the top of the mountain. :cloud9:

    Great display!!!

Truly unique and as they say a 1/1!!

Of imho The no 1 comic that started its all!! Popeye... The Phantom... oups

     Action Comics 1!!!

Action #1 is more than just a Superman book. Using the argument that one "likes" Batman more than Superman, or Superman "sucks", is all irrelevant... Action#1   (like the Mona Lisa to art ,  like the Honus Wagner T206 to card collecting,)  is now THE representative of all superhero comics and is THE ultimate grail in the superhero collecting market.

It will be quite the feat to knock this collectible off of the top pedestal  IMHO

    FISH

Couldn't have said it better myself. Honus Wagner is not even in the top 25 best known players dare I say Top 50

Action 1 started it all. Without Superman they would have stuck to detective comics... 27  would have been another one like the previous. But DC had a massive hit with there spandex super hero!!!

I don’t disagree but in terms of hard completed -sales i would be hard-pressed to say otherwise.

Of course with all the completed data. Just implying with a 5.5 sale in 2016 at same auction house and that market has risen and is in fire... A 7.0 AC1 could really go bonkers on the coat tails of this TEC 27....  I think 1.5mil is a dhoe in and we looking at 1.75. If it hits 2million I will freak out!!

I think Tec 27 is making some nice strides to reach Action 1, but I agree it’s still in a league of its own. Atleast in the higher grades. Lest we not forget the last Action 1, a general 5.5 copy sold for $950K at no reserve auction while a gorgeous pedigree 6.0 Tec 27 reluctantly finds a buyer for $850K. At auction potentially/likely sells for somewhat less. Don’t get me wrong though, this 7.0 is an impressive sale, and maybe not finished yet.

Exactly. The ac1 5.5 950k  2016!! Most books went up alot during this time
