  1. I'm concerned the corners are going to hurt my grade the most. The cover is gorgeous but time will tell as I've sent it in for the pros to grade. Will update.
  2. I agree having it pressed would help. As it stands I'd say a 7.0.
  3. I only got to go Friday but it being my first con it was sensory overload. We tried to get Stans autograph but after two hours in line with little movement we got our money back and went and bought more books. I did get Tom King's autograph on my batman issues which was a highlight. Got some great books though which was my main goal. I also got to hold a raw copy of GS X-Men. A guy in Stan's line had a copy and let me get a picture holding it. Fun fun!
  4. I'm still learning the ropes and will include future books in their entirety.
  5. What struck me about the book was how red the cover was among its other attributes . Not faded orange like many of the copies you see. The book is packed already and ready to ship for grading or else I would post pictures of the back but I will update the board once it's returned and graded.
  6. My boss is moody. My wife is moody. Now I have to worry about moody graders. When does it end? LOL!
  7. I'm paying several hundred dollars to have 15 books graded and fast tracked. I'd be really disappointed if my grade is dependent upon the graders mood that day. I've read passages regarding this notion several times on the board which is scary. But hey You won't hear me complain if he's in a good mood and my books come back 9.8's. Either way keep the opinions coming they're much appreciated.
  8. Having it pressed might do it some good. As it stands I'd go 7.0 to 7.5.
  9. PGM New Mutants 87 Unfortunately the book is boxed and ready to be shipped to CGC so I can't take pics of the back but if you can give an opinion with the pictures provided I'd be grateful.
  10. I started out buying only modern books because I was unaware of what the key issues were. Now I'm educated and inclined to buy that Hulk 181 or Wolverine 1982 series in 9.8. Maybe X-Men 94. It's a whole different game and best of all it's fun.
  11. I was able to remove the fingerprints using tissue and made the decision to send it in to be graded along with 6 other books. I'll update once I get them back.
  12. I am sending my copy to be graded now along with several other copper age books. I'm hoping for a 9.6 but I may be being optimistic. I can see ASM 300 taking off like Hulk 181 especially with the movie announcement.
  13. I love the Star Wars variants. I've amassed about thirty including both quesada variants. I've also began collecting Poe Dameron Princess Leia Vader Down Doctor Aphra and Darth Vader comics so I'm up to about 100 issues all told.
  14. I was wondering if cgc holds older books to the same standard as modern books? Any opinions on the subject?
  15. Go to Amazon and type in comic book wall mount and it should be the first result. They sell for $5.99 each plus $3.99 shipping on the total order. Very easy installation.
  16. I'm hoping that with a little cleaning this book will receive a high grade. I'm interested in the boards feedback.
  17. Hi everyone. My name is Joel. Poppy is my puppy. I am a collector of comics and coins and I'm fortunate to have a wife who shares and supports my obsessions. I hope to learn from the boards so that I can amass a collection I can be proud of and ultimately pass on. Im only 44 so I have plenty of time. Kudos to you all!!
  18. If the forum consensus is less than a 9.6 I'm going to keep it raw and just enjoy the comic.
