  1. Great looking copy.. With the issues you mentioned I would guess 9.4 to 9.6. Maybe higher depending if they hold the bindery tears against you.
  2. Well said... Only a very small percentage of collectors ever get rich collecting comic books so as Newshane said do what makes you happy!
  3. I'm going to guess a 6.5 - 7.0. I've never graded a book as heavily faded so if you send it in for grading, please update the boards once it's returned. Good luck!
  4. I agree that if I'm going to get something signed I want it signed by someone who had a part in the production of the book. I'm not going to have Stan Lee sign a new Marvel Star Wars issue for instance. I have several books that are signed but I kind of feel like I've been there done that, and now I prefer to buy my books graded but unsigned. Also by buying the unsigned blue label books I save the often excessive premium charged for signed copies. I can afford a much higher grade book if I buy it unsigned which means I have more cash to add more books to my collection. But to each their own. I've found the experience of getting a book signed then witnessed by a CGC employee at a con to be bothersome and I feel it takes away from the experience of the Con because I'm chasing signatures all day rather than visiting booths and finding more cool comics. I tried to get Stan Lee's autograph once but my wife stood in line for hours without moving until we finally decided it just wasn't worth it. If I want a book with his signature bad enough I'll buy one online. Anyway just my two cents
  5. I agree. A pressing would increase the value and the overall appearance. After a press I'd guess 4.5.
  6. Best guess, 4.5 to 5.0. The pages look nice and white and the back cover looks as though it benefited from the press. Looks like a keeper!
  7. Looks like 5.0 to me. Hard to tell how bad that staple is through pictures but that's my best guess.
  8. Love the O.J. ad. Never heard of Dingo Boots:) I'd grade this comic a 7.5 to 8.0 based on your pics.
  9. Great score. I'd agree with your assessment and go with a 7.0 - 7.5.
  10. I'd say 7.5 maybe 8.0. The book is stunning.
  11. I'd say a 7.0 based on what I can observe in your pictures.
  12. I believe you're referring to the black ink that's intruding into the white lettering. I don't think that would be held against you by the graders due to it being a printing error but if you want to play it safe that's still a book you can pick up in NM condition without breaking the bank. I own an ungraded copy myself that I plan to have signed when the opportunity presents itself. Tonight I'll have to pull mine out to see if my book has the same defect.
  13. Good for you! That's on the higher side that what most people were guessing so you must be happy. I don't personally own the Giant Size issue but it's on my greatest hits list. Next up for me is X-Men 94..
  14. I'm at 7.0 as it is today. The back of the book would benefit from some cleaning so perhaps getting the book pressed and cleaned might be a good move. You may be able to increase the grade at least enough to get a return on your investment and you'll have a book with a higher grade. I love that cover!
  15. Count me in for a 6.5. Great book though!
  16. They will take the book from you and have you complete form listing the services you want them to perform. If you want them to press the book you would indicate that at that point. They take the book back to Sarasota and in several weeks you'll get your book back slabbed, pressed and graded. I do agree that your only chance at a 9.8 would be a pressing but there are no guarantees. As far as getting Stan's signature it would only be worth it in my opinion is the book was graded a 9.8.
  17. I'd grade it a 9.0 based on what I can see in the photos. Sharp corners, great color, an overall great looking comic.
