  1. 4.5 to 5.0 is my best guess.. Great book by the way..
  2. I see the creases on Venom's leg in the third photograph. I do not believe that's meant to be spider webs.
  3. I would say 4.0.. But I'm not a professional. As some of my peers stated, it may be best to just sell it raw rather than having it slabbed. You'd probably make out the same or better with less wait and hassle.
  4. So "orangish" colored books may have had more exposure to light or poor color saturation. Thanks!
  5. Those corners are killers. I'll be happy with anything above a 9.0. Thank you!
  6. New Mutants 87 Cover Color Question I recently obtained a copy of New Mutants 87 in great condition. It's been sent off for grading but I wanted to post a picture showing it's bright red cover. It seems that when I look at the same book on eBay that most of the books are more orange in color than red. I am aware of the golden second print issue but I'm referring to the first print. Any thoughts? I'll attach a picture of mine.
  7. I'll know for sure in a couple of weeks when I get it back from CGC. Thank you for your opinion.:)
  8. Looks good. I was thinking 8.5 - 9.0 but I guess that's why the graders make the big bucks..
  9. Looks more like a 9.0 to me. I have a few 9.0's in my collection and they resemble the book you presented.
  10. eBay has copies of 24a listed for $25 presently. But $14.95 seems to be the number that's selling today.
  11. I did the breath trick as well. Just to get the slightest condensation prior to rubbing it with tissue. It worked well. There was still some grease marks visible (barely) on the back. We'll see how it comes back from grading!
  12. No the book is on its way to CGC. I'll update once I have a grade.
  13. I received my copies from mycomicshop.com today. Ordered two of 24a. I only touched them to bag them. Didn't read them.
  14. Would anyone hazard a guess at what grade I might receive? I appreciate the observations and opinions thus far but would be interested in any thoughts on what it would grade at. Thanks in advance.
  15. This was the first comic I bought signed by Stan Lee. I own 2 9.8's. One gold and one red. Your copy looks clean. I'd say 8.0 because of the damage at the top corner of the spine and the color breaks visible on the backside bottom of the spine.
  16. Without seeing the back I'd go 2.0. Some restoration may do it some good. Perhaps getting it cleaned and pressed would bring back some of the luster it's lost. Good luck!
  17. I too bought two copies of Batman 24 from MCS. I stopped by my LCS yesterday just curious to see if he had held onto any copies and was told by an employee that the owner pulled all the issues at both of his stores for himself. That tells me that in his opinion it's going to be a keeper. So far I've enjoyed Tom King's writing style having followed him from Sheriff of Babylon and the Vision series. At this moment I'm waiting for a few books he signed for me at Megacon in Orlando to be graded by CGC. Issue 1 and two copies of issue 21 with the Lenticular cover.
  18. I would like to mention that I sent in my copy of X-Men 266 with more evident corner issues and it was returned with a 9.0 grade. Mainly I'd like to halt any further damage to my ASM 300 issue by getting it encapsulated and added to my wall of comics.
  19. I'll take an 8.0. I will hold onto it and I have a few other books I'm more excited about. You never know cgc can shock you sometimes. Thanks for the opinion.
  20. Sorry bob. I realized I'd asked the same question twice so I edited it and asked another question. Your not crazy.
  21. I say 8.5 as it is. 9.0 after a press. Enjoy the book. It's a great issue.
