  1. Can you help me remove a sticker stain from this 1st issue? If it were any other issue number it could be removed easily and would look like it was never there. However on 1st issue's sticker residue presents an insurmountable challenge. IMHO given the book is readily available, keep the one you have for the memories and pick up a high grade copy for the collection while they are reasonably priced.
  2. My mistake - retracted I do deal with MCS. Love their boxes, excellent and secure packing, and low shipping rates. I've had good dealings with them. That said it's all been small potatoes normal run books for me. I purchased only single book at auction from them 5 years ago so my sampling is too low for it to be of value as a data point.
  3. As far as I am aware in Texas the practice is sadly legal. One of the multitude of reasons I no longer bid on anything Heritage offers. Does Heritage do it on every item? I doubt it, but they could if they so desire.
  4. There's nothing like the smell of a Gaines File Copy in the morning. BTW CGC has their own K-9 unit.
  5. Any chance it was just this guy "f-ing around" again and that he will return it in short order after being told it's not the 1st page w/Black Costume.
  6. yep , one would think he could very well afford a $500 scanner to post some decent pic's
  7. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=181058 Ol' Dan, if he chooses, can now retire comfortably. I know I would. Will however may be loosing some sleep
  8. So is the owner of this jumping for joy now? Or at least have enough potential scratch to get decent scan made? https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1192109
  9. Fair point. There was obvious funny business with Video Games and Sports Cards last year by various Auction Houses. They are shrewd, secretive and slippery so figuring out what the actual machinations are fall outside the current known data points available to apply to the situation.
  10. ... it appears you two did not look close enough at the context of my post in your frenzied rushed to defend your overlord Heritage If you look at the quoted post in my response, the context should be more clear. To expand on it from the original one-liner; What upset's me is that Heritage made 500K or so and Zeck still made zero. Of course his amount must be zero unless he sold it. But in overall grand universal scheme of things no one has to "like" it, although we do have to live with it.
  11. "Only one who cares" about a 1977 X-Men Cover... Funniest thing I've read this week, if not this year.
  12. All early Direct Market Editions were produced except for the cover dates 1-3/1978, 7/1978, and 3-4/1979 At least 1 Direct Market Edition does exist for books cover dated 3 and 4/1979; Battlestar Galactica.
  13. Sadly and wrongly CGC seems more concerned with color loss now than anything else. The rub above "whoosh" will drop it a lot. 4.0/4.5
  14. HI, which Overstreet # was that?
  15. In the state in which they operate the Auction House is permitted to bid on auctions. Of course the Auction House is aware of the amount of placed bids. The fix is totally and legally (in the State in which they are charted) in for their auctions if they choose it to be on any individual lot.
  16. "The Rock" and the legion of Duane's fans deserve most of the credit for the book's steady rise in value the last 7-8 years. I don't get his vast popularity myself but it simply cannot be denied.
  17. I'm a fan of ancient TV Photo Cover comics. "C'mon Get Happy" .
  18. Vicki reprinted late 1960s Samm Schwartz stories from Tower Comics’ Tippy Teen. http://www.toonopedia.com/tippy.htm
  19. He's too busy "f-ing around" returning Miracleman 1 Cover reproductions
  20. I've seen their slabs over the years. Have stopped looking them after almost never seeing one for which the book inside the slab is worthy of the grade on the label. Here is SWAG percentages for the times that by viewing the the book through the slab that I feel the label is too high a grade: CGC 25-30 CBCS 75-80 PGX 95-99 The lower the number the better. As they say Your Mileage May Vary
