  1. And how many who are taking losses like that will remain in hobby? My guess is very very few. Those who have money to burn can do so much better with other investments... A collectible bubble almost always requires heavy support from the unexperienced to overpay aka rubes. That occurs pretty much once generation. The 2 most recent to suck in decent amount of gen pop rubes were early 90s and the just ended pandemic bubble. That is why I say many over 40 will not see again in their lifespan. Bottom line; time is relentless and human life is fleeting! Aint i just a little ray of sunshine
  2. Patience in this case is a product of projected life span. Many here who wait with fingers crossed for next bubble will still have those fingers crossed in their coffins. The larger the bubble the larger the burst. Effects from the just ended bubble will be in force for at least the next decade.
  3. Yep most of 2020-early 2022 was an anomaly that will never happen again for anyone over 40. best to plot x as 2019 and y as 2023 Of course there are always exception and outliers but hobby as whole is not just those.
  4. As stated by wise folks in this thread like @SOTIcollector ; Sentimental reasons. I've submitted at least 100 comics that have little or no value purely for that reason. Here are some examples without revealing the personal sentimental reasons for doing so...
  5. The way this book has been sinking it soon may not be worth submitting to most unless a sure 9.6 or 9.8 candidate.
  6. Man this festering gob keeps spewing out the same manure https://blog.gocollect.com/does-new-technology-make-you-skeptical-of-digital-collecting-heres-why-you-shouldnt-be-afraid/ BTW he things the Apes gif is/was good because it means mass adoption... It’s already happening with terms like digital assets, digital contracts, digital collectibles and digital experiences replacing a term that instantly conveys techno-geeks & celebrities dolling out million$ for 2D apes or napkin art. This is when mass adoption occurs, which is EXACTLY what we saw with THE INTERNET, now 100% engrained in daily life. BTW the Moe Ron thinks engrained means ingrained
  7. look at now this way if labels/flips are wrong or something else is out of sorts you know to do something as soon as you receive them or perhaps even before they ship. Clock is ticking as now that CGC can only be bothered to correct THEIR own mistakes if you the customer catch within 14 days from time it is shipped.
  8. I have mine and they both had CW TV Shows! it tested well - assuming that was even true then their testing method is flawed and FOOBAR-ed! Batgirl might have broke even. Loses from the Flash turd should be clawed back from Zaslov's 250MIL salary - yep that incompetent id10t made 250 Million USD in 2022, for doing what at this point in time no one actually knows.
  9. Lighning in a bottle is a rare thing. For some like me it occurred once with Valiant, for a smaller contingent of others twice, it will not occur again. I caution any looking to purchase Valiant Key slabs at current levels. FMVs will drop deeper and deeper. They are not books for the future, they are merely relics of a very tiny year or 2 of quality in the early 90s.
  10. Appears you hit the jackpot if you are an ethically and morally challenged seller, now after a re-slab its much more easily sold to an unsuspecting rube. Is that the reason you desire to have it re-holdered? Its for this reason I will not purchase any CGC book if I I do not have internet access to weed out nonsense like this. Congrats to CGC for making it so much easier for scammers
  11. Doom Patrol seems to be the one property that did not receive a a jump or at least to a spike due to a TV Show. I for one say its apropos for DOOM PATROL to buck the norm
  12. The Bro, also called the Manssiere, is a bra designed for men to help support their upper bodies. It is connected in the back by velco and made the wearer feel lose and free to move. It was created by Cosmo Kramer, but the idea was originally conceived by Frank Costanza.
  13. Bob Storms' only friend is a buck. The more bucks he has, the more friends he has. Just give him your money and keep your mouth shut, he certainly does not care about being liked especially by you! “Your only friend is a buck and the more bucks you got the more friends you got.” — Warren Foster, The Flintstones, Season 1: No Help Wanted
  14. For nearly all NON Painted published comic art, encapsulating will succeed in transforming a flexible item not subject to damage with normal handling to an large rigid easily damageable object that requires rather gentle care. I have no desire to deal with the kind of attention and babying a large art slab will require for both handling and storage. Seems like a giant P.I.T.A. If CGC somehow believes there to be a market here I do seriously question if they are canvassing input from the the correct folks. Seems like a career end-er or at very least bonus reducer for those who champion it when it fails and losses pile up. P.S. Then there are Newton's Rings horrid enough of an issue with CGC Comics, that will be a worse problem due to the vast additional size of a standard published size or large art slab.
  15. Title says undervalued Bronze ASM's but 1st post seem to indicate it's not about that but refers to OPG. Is the topic actually Bronze Age ASM that OPG should break out from the pack? If yes then my question is; does OPG have relevance anymore other than as a dated reference guide for those over 50.
  16. All self-submitted, purchased back in the day at my LCS. Back around 2015/2016 time frame very few 9.8 Solar 10's on census and commanded ~$1500, even more than in the pandemic. To me Solar 10 is THE Valiant to have. Not a Harbinger fan myself
  17. Here's 2 and you are correct! Must have had too many beers then submitted them whilst in a stupor.
  18. knowing those involved i question if the page was even from the Moore story. 3/4 of the book was not. U positive it was from the moore orlando story?
  19. San Mateo Bros loves playing them Mind Games. Gives them a smug sense of self satisfaction. Yet unbelievably there is one Boston based OA art dealer who is far worse.
  20. On their site Reece has boatload of 202 in 9.8. Could be a decade or more until all those are absorbed into hobby unless they drop their price which they will NEVER do.
  21. The most important lessons to give to someone new to the hobby are 1) NEVER BUY FROM LOS BROS - consider any art they do have as not existing 2) All Waterson Art is fake! 3) Heritage will jack and shill every auction and it may even be legal in Texas. 4) See Rule #1
  22. Quantum computing is always 10 years away Perhaps Carlin was correct? “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
