  1. I have a dim recollection from my youth of high gloss on a cover being a selling point
  2. Hyperbole much ;) Yeah the wrap is a little off but not egregious. Not only is the book 9.8 but it's a very strong copy from a technical perspective. I purchased it raw and self submitted, so thanks for the personal attack even if it was not your intention. I do challenge you to find a nicer copy of the issue. Great if you have the life expectancy and money to only purchase DC Silver Age books that are perfect to your eyes. As I realize I won't live forever nor have vast wealth; I learned a long time ago that when collecting Silver Age DC's one can not be picky on non-Bat books due to being almost non-existent in high-grade, unlike with Marvel books that usually have vast quantities. P.S. this post does apply to 1968-1969 Silver Age - please ignore my signature this time.
  3. To be clear at time you wrote your post and time i am writing this post it is not at 20K. 20K is the Reserve which has not yet been met. In addition it is 1 of the 3 covers not all 3, they are being auctioned separately. Will it make the reserve is the ? IMHO it should have been sold as a 3 cover lot, which may have been the logic you employed
  4. I agree, but I thought that at $2750... Now that may be 30-40% below eventual bottom?
  5. ^ yep. Excercise regulary, go high fiber and lean protein diet and perhaps you might just make it to next bubble.
  6. yw. All props go to @valiantman
  7. Spawn 1 (1992). As graded comics go there are almost as many in 9.8 or higher as there are grains of sand on the world's beaches. It also has the most pre2000 9.9's and 10's . http://cgcdata.com/cgc/cgctop/ Book Total Submissions CGC 10.0 CGC 9.9 CGC 9.8 Spawn 1 (1992, Image Comics) 1st appearance of Spawn (Al Simmons). 2nd Image "i" logo. 8. IMHO at $35 is still $30 more than they are worth
  9. at very least it should be equal to the amount of single US Paper Currency bill is required to still remain legal tender https://www.frbservices.org/resources/financial-services/cash/exception-processing/mutilated-currency-coin.html https://www.bep.gov/services/mutilated-currency-redemption
  10. My answer to topic question is no,no,no,No,NO
  11. i believe the data can be pulled from or already is hard linked at cgcdata.com The owner creator of the site is on this forum. If you are unable to figure it out, tag valiantman to this thread.
  12. Yep they are almost as rare as having sand on a beach BTW no offense intended to the original poster, all if us were new to hobby once. Although in my case it was just very slightly before variants, gimmics and hype replaced substance
  13. Will it cross-over to 1968 Wonder Woman so I can go business class to a Hawaiian Vacation? Or am I totally screwed due it being the non-costume era? 1/2 in 9.8
  14. Noting on the label might impede some dishonest sellers from advertising pre-June 1979 and pre-Oct 1980 DC's as newsstands. Something I've seen a lot of the past few years, including on this forum, as they lie with their hawks of "it's a newsstand baby" or some similar tripe. @greggy man, hoping you'll back me up on this.
  15. Constant inbound Cash flow is never bad. If you also suggesting sellers wait for next bubble? Hope they are young enough to make it. There wont be a V recovery for comics nor trading cards markets across the board. Could be 1-3 decades before seemingly every book or card is warm or hot at same time - aka a bubble. Films ain't coming to the rescue either, expect smaller bumps with shortened hot durations and reduced levels of inbound greenhorns with more dollars than sense. For those who selling is just a side gig or a hobby and don't need funds ok fine, but still ain't solid business skill. Nor to them does it need to be. Those with true business acumen adapt and do well in almost any market, i guess we'll see how many of them are real Comic dealers. Re: Price drops; if to pre pandemic prices on many books, but certainly not all, is not a falling knife, more like restoration of order IMHO P.S. I could be totally wrong about cash flow of course, however I've got the basic rules of operating cash flow on my side . I believe rule 1 is never run out of cash
  16. Yep...gets ready for a looooong decade. Bigger the bubble the more widespread the burst. Now we get to see who actually possess true business accumen and who dont. Hint cash flow is king!
  17. Forest Gump would say "deebahgg is as deebahgg does"
  18. Yes, in the post right above yours
  19. I just looked all 6 of mine, 2 are backwards. Interesting those were the 2 I purchased from my LCS release day (I have a sticker with my notes on the outer mylar), the other 4 were purchased for .50 each 2 year later. can I retire to my own private island now? P.S. Dirt may very well be less common than this book!
  20. Marvel should name the collection; "ROMnibus"
