What is up with the Crazy price disparity on Ebay
MAY1979 replied to aabruzzese's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Many more potential eyeballs and offers a modicum of safety compared to other platforms, but yeah they do kind o'suck -
IF done correctly it is: Marvel - books starting with cover date June 1979 and NOT before DC - books starting with cover date Oct 1980 and NOT before I do not have info on Whitman/Gold Key, Charlton, Archie or Harvey but suspect each date will differ.

yep. small-minded business model that inherently defines lack of business acumen. Or sometimes as simple as deeebaggg is as deeebagg does -

Blameless postmortems (most famous today in the Google SRE model) are probably the best way to improve quality control in a production setting. However one of the most effective ways for a smooth talker to rise in Corporate ranks is to point blame and feign outrage.

If for your personal collection and seek to display your books from time to time, IMHO go with the EGerber 914M2 - reason is; Mylar filters out 99+% of UV's , polypropylene is not a UV-resistant plastic.

Stolen OA Alert - UPDATED Monday, May 6th 2024
MAY1979 replied to jjonahjameson11's topic in Original Comic Art
Its possible that many items headed for Heritage are stolen in the "last mile". Having Heritage's name as the "To:" mailing address makes every parcel headed there a Target. Heritage needs to address this gap. I think we all feel for the OP's losses -
What's New In Your Copper Age Collection This Week?
MAY1979 replied to Jasonmorris1000000's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
2019 and 2020 CPV's 4 None, did not want to take a chance of CGC mishandling them which IMHO is always highly plausible All my paperwork was filled out correctly! The saddest one is Daring New Adventures of Supergirl #1 as it states Canadian on the cover itself. -

Not sure. I personally would treat it same as a page missing - same as if page 1 was torn out. -

Captain America #279 and Star Wars #69 also have Tattooz sans advertising on the cover. -
The debate over the two DC films sometimes focuses on the quality of the movie, but it's all about money and expectations. Forgetting it's a multi-hero franchise film, The Flash box office take was respectable. However, it's now a world where a $135.7 million global box office is a dismal failure. Yet, it could be because the reported budget for The Flash was $220 million before marketing. In the 2020s, the required marketing budget is expected to match the film's budget, though The Flash's budget breaks that scale. Further, this film has been delayed multiple times, so the studio had to selectively market it for around three years. WB Discovery must split the take with theaters. Once the film is profitable, the studio will have to pay out and "backend" deals with actors, producers or the director. The specifics of all these aren't known, but it's safe to infer that $500 million is closer to "break-even" territory than profit. Batgirl, however, was canceled because $90 million was already too expensive and, if finished, would harm the DC brand. Those who didn't enjoy The Flash find the latter bit hard to believe. https://www.cbr.com/the-flash-box-office-failure-batgirl-cancelation-debates/ Fire Zaslev! Claw back his $252Million 2022 Salary+Bonus, his idiocy has cost them 100's of millions.

and every one I've self-submitted -
Per The Wrap, the Ezra Miller-led The Flash fell far below expectations in its second week of screenings, dropping over seventy percent to between $14 million and $16 million compared to its already abysmal $55 million opening. Currently, The Flash sits at number three for the weekend, behind both Disney/Pixar's Elemental and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The news was seemingly confirmed as early as Wednesday, June 21, when both other films exceeded the daily gross for The Flash. Early estimates had projected The Flash would open to somewhere between $70 million and $75 million in its first weekend in theaters. As of Monday, June 19, The Flash had garnered a worldwide box office take of $138 million, barely covering half of the film's $220 million budget. "it tested well" last Summer. HA! that means nothing and seldom does. Zaslev's cancels everything but pours money into this film! Perhaps he was out committing crimes with Miller? Claw back of $249.9 Million of Zaslev's 250MILLION dollars salary+bonus from 2022 should be permitted. Likely the most overrated CEO in the USA. The Shareholders now have every right to be out for blood!

Removing Rust from staples

The staple would have a fresh and exhilarating scent -
If that is the case they will have no need Gunn. Doesn't take any vision to just pump out Batman stuff. But yeah I do think what you stated is plausible!
