Marvel should name the collection; "ROMnibus"

Ross Andru's Amazing Spider-Man Club
MAY1979 replied to Get Marwood & I's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
The argument might be made that in his early to mid 60's Andru hit his artistic peak. IMHO his ASM then later his Superman work and many DC covers were noticeably more polished than his earlier art -
Consider me humbled having received a non confused like from @greggy. So this is what its like to live the high life

Doing so will create false perceived scarcity as all the many newsstands graded from 1999-2022 will not be listed separate in the census. Unless that 23 years of data is present then it is tantamount to encouraging a lie. Same as it is now with multi-pack stuff. Unscrupulous sellers, dealers, auction houses and flippers will make a killing selling books to the uniformed advertising them as "newsstand 1/1". Therefore I'm sure CGC will do it
-
you are correct. However they only list the color aspect not IMHO more meaningful things for an encased paper comic book like PH numbers BTW the page quality review is merely a quick look at the color. CGC is not conducting any truly valuable analysis such measuring acid levels - which of course involves taking a sample which would be bad. Thus I conclude it really should be called paper color and pretty much if newsprint was used then it truly cant be White anyhow. 100% agree with below.

I also recommend Back Issue #16 to ROM fans. Not sure if physical copy can still be purchased at tomorrows website but the pdf can.

To celebrate that announcement, the highly elusive 9.8 #25 newsstand, but will probably be cheap if you do find one.

Regarding WP and OW/WP this is something that should be a pretty exact measurement. Yet many submitter's receive WP on books they have measured as being OW/W and OW/W on books that were White. Optical tech is more than advanced enough to do this determination without having to have to rely on a human's opinion. I do not understand is why many collectors who "Buy the book, Not the Flip (Label)" incongruously take the CGC page quality designation as Gospel.

Or Oakland. From my own raw submitting and general interest over the years my estimate is only 1 maybe 1.5 out of 4 has WP's. Although I know of many an occasion where re-submitting a book for signature can earn a page quality bump up.

I have pedigrees but would never pay extra for one. Although I guess if I have the dough for a decent Edgar Church I might think different

Never had an issue with WW in 15 years of dealing. I will say the last few years their time to ship has increased. Still they are one of my very few go to dealers.

Recommendations on a New Scanner for Original Art
MAY1979 replied to AlexGarcia's topic in Original Comic Art
Plustek OpticPro A320E . Have mine almost 2 years, does a great job on Original Art + slabbed comics and cards. It's CCD tech which in my opinion is superior to CIS for Art and of course for slabs (CIS wont work right on them). -
my way of storing is right?

IMHO - tight but not taught. Books should be easy to remove. -
CGC’s OFFICIAL Mechanical Errors / Returns Policy
MAY1979 replied to SpineTic's topic in Comics General
Won't matter. Blackstone now believes they are simply entitled to your money without providing any semblance of quality service. As there is no viable competition it will get worse, this is only tip of iceberg stuff. The only solution is to stop submitting and just as importantly stop purchasing their slabs regardless of the seller. If their black ink ever starts to sniff red the exec's will need to cowardly shield their large ill-gotten bonus' by selling off the CGC division, which frankly is probably the best thing that could happen. -
Buh buh buh what about my Little Stooges #7? I should be rewarded for my stupidity in submitting with a pile o'cash large enough to retire! PS i did submit one but as i say far too often I dont sell comics
-
Buy the book not the number on the label
-
IMHO you got an accurate grade. Banking on a re-submittal getting higher grade in error is not wise, in fact getting a lower grade is far more likely. Damage might occur due to handling not to mention the elimination of q/c by the parent corporation

Selling on eBay: auction timing?
MAY1979 replied to fiendish's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Ive used sniping services since 2004. My guess is most serious bidders do. Still if you are hoping to get the North America rube novice contingent then yes Sun night 21:00-23:00ET works best -
Anyone else having problems with Comic Link
MAY1979 replied to Terry E. Gibbs's topic in Original Comic Art
I did win a clink comic book auction recently with my $35 tracking bid. -
IMHO if it happened on more than one slab, even if it was 5 months since they were returned; - post to https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/27-comic-book-grading-and-restoration-issues/ - tag "cgc mike" by inserting with the @ in your post. Please note there is space between cgc and mike it's become apparently that CGC's parent company has little desire in providing excellent customer service. Sadly when you have no truly viable competition that is often the case, almost the same situation with PSA in the card world. Of course if this was CGC Card slab they not only have fixed things but likley given you some credit to use on your next submission. Strong competition usually improves customer service.

Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
MAY1979 replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Redux's usually are very minimal compared to the original. A new run will have greatly diminished affects across the board. Many other Collecting Hobby's are going through same thing. Bigger the bubble the more widespread the burst!
