  1. I do love that TTA v2 #1 with original cover image reversed that gives the UPS code a mostly empty space to hang out.
  2. What is going rate in 9.8? A 9.6 sold for $90 in Aug. Reprint of a classic cover with low population seem fair but it was a Buy-it-Now so probably go for less if regular auction. I love those reprint books. As a child I recall them populating the quarter bins of my LCS in the mid 1980's. They were my first exposure to many 1960's Marvel Covers and stories. Those 1979 reprints (TTA, X-Men in Amazing Adventure v2 and Fantasy Masterpieces V2) were thought to be "junk" books for decades - so probably a bit hard to find in high grade?
  3. Sandman 2 seems to be almost as condition sensitive as number 8. Of course 8 is submitted in much higher #'s. Tough book #2 I got a 9.6 on mine in 2017.
  4. Now that they have read your post they will boost the asking price. No joking.
  5. @WernerVonDoom I do hope you receive it. Fedex has lost 2 item of mine this year alone. USPS in 4 decades has never lost a single item of mine and if you make friends with you local post master you can get lots of help in many situations. BTW FEDEX rarely honors an insurance claim!
  6. The pics are such that a lot of data is unknown, make it too difficult for me to differentiate between an 8.x or 9.x
  7. I have Economy Submission's NO press I shipped out 1 year ago tomorrow (Sept 8, 2021) . It was not checked in until Oct 19, 2021. So it's now at 11 months for a NO press Economy. Submitted another 2 NO Press Ecomomy last Oct but not checked in until Nov. I do wonder which will come first; our Sun going Super Nova or my getting back the Economy NO press Sub's sitting at CGC since Sept-Oct 2021.
  8. 9.4 spine ticks and small tear, however since a Modern book it might be judge more harshly so 9.2 or 9.0 are also very possible. As its a direct sale IMHO not worth submitting.
  9. 9.0 - possible a 9.2 with press but it might just end up as a slightly nicer looking 9.0 ? Based on the edge of the book seen in the front pics the page quality may be less than white. Although since it's 1987 newsstand not as much of a hit as for direct sale. Make note from my personal experience this is one of those books CGC is very tough on and more so in last year than ever. Same also goes for the 1986 Limited #1. You might say CGC punishes the Punisher
  10. Some of the most common books of the 20th century in middling raw condition - if legit mustbe some rubes following some "genius" social media influencers "brilliant" advice
  11. IMHO same press run, same printing . Just a simple variation
  12. Not new to my collection but it feels that way. Had been looking for this book for nearly a year as I've been going through and scanning my collection. Went through all my Marvel boxes several times. Found it today, it was in a DC Silver Age box - go figure. Purchased in 1998 from Harley for $60
  13. They stopped that. IIRC due to threat of legal action due to evidence proving it was a false claim. Although I could be thinking of something else? I love the look of the old Blue and Red pre-July 2003 labels. However when not buying in person always inquire if the label strip on the top of the slab in still intact. The glue is very very old on those and it dries out and falls off. I don't mind a peeling label as Best Test paper cement works miracles. BTW: CGC was much tougher on page quality back then.
  14. 1st action: Attempt to work the issue out with CGC. https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/what-do-if-youre-billed-things-you-never-got-or-you-get-unordered-products BTW: it does have White pages to a small cadre of collectors that seems to be all that matters
  15. Only out of curiosity what would you estimate your success rate of what you feel are 9.6's into 9.8's? Also your accidental damage %? Thanks!
  16. Unless you are 100% positive the books 5 years hence will be worth the expenditure of slabbing then IMHO don't bother. Of course this coming from the id10t (me) who slabbed a 2008 Betty and Veronica Digest
  17. Pressing should be on a book by book basis not a default position. Believe I've seen JoeyPost write that many times
  18. Paying less for something I want really roasts my nuts
  19. Sadly your experience is not an outlier, not an exception, and is becoming the norm. Blackstone's eliminated Q/C as it affects very bottom line padding to bonus' of their Executives who hop around from firm to firm every 18-24 months leaving a bloody trail of wrecked livelihoods in their wake. As long as CGC has more inbound business than in effect they can handle there will be no more Q/C. When things turn, and eventually submissions slow to lower than pre-pandemic levels, Blackstone will simply sell CGC.
  20. Thor 282 - Mjolnir permanently looses the Time Travel mojo. Excellent art IMHO by Pollard/Marcos
  21. Thanks. I had heard it was not that common, does not happen to all hammers and it is a big deal
  22. Mjolnir lost all ability for time travel in Thor 282. Its very sad that I know that, even more sad than the writer of the first link you provided not knowing it.
