  1. Choking out the bad guy to choking out THE bad guy.
  2. Dead Reds to Red Mist and Suicide Smith to Suicide Patrol.
  3. I don't recall ever seeing that one. Dragon to dragon.
  4. The real question is, are they rising relative to inflation? We're dealing with massive inflation right now across the board. Try buying a used car or getting some home renovation jobs quoted and you'll see what I mean.
  5. It doesn't sound like there's anything in there that's even collectible. You can find collections like that wholesale for $30 a long box.
  6. Books were much cheaper in the 80s and 90s, but it was very hard to find the really good stuff unless you had inside connections or went to national conventions. It's much easier to find stuff now even though you'll pay through the nose.
  7. Holy Toledo, Chicago Boy! I am shocked that they would assign a grade to a comic book that was missing two wraps. Now, if a book had a clipped coupon or something, OK. But two wraps????
  8. I don't buy incomplete books, so I'm not that familiar with how they're graded. Can an incomplete book get a numerical grade, or would it automatically receive an "NG?"
  9. True, but the book is incomplete. The grade on a trimmed book should be no higher than 1.0, in my humble opinion.
  10. Sports are virtually omnipresent in our culture now. Back in the '80s, college football killed off some of my favorite Saturday morning kids' shows, and it's only gotten worse since then. I enjoy participating in sports, but I have no interest in being a spectator.
  11. I only have one copy of Overstreet. I take it to flea markets and estate sales in case there's any disagreement about the value of a book.
  12. When did @ciorac pose for that comic book cover? Slightly hunched back to really hunched back.
  13. Even with what Promise books have been going for, that one surprises me, too. Maybe someone is going after a highest-graded run of that title. I would have predicted a hammer price around $2K. For some people $8,400 is nothing. Those people used to look down their noses at comic book collecting, but I guess the hobby is more socially acceptable now. (For many years I was ridiculed mercilessly by anyone who found out I collected comic books; people were outraged that a grown man would collect comic books. I'm sure some people still feel that way, but I don't get harassed the way I used to )
  14. Jann wielding a knife to Alani wielding a knife.
  15. There was a big push to add Trump's face to Mt. Rushmore, which would have made five presidents, so in the spirit of that venture I'll name five artists and go with Lou Fine, Alex Schomburg, Matt Baker, Graham Ingles, and Dan Zolnerowich. L. B. Cole would be the runner up.
