  1. Do not let greed and personal profit take precedence over the collective health and we’ll being of convention goers, dealers, exhibitors, staff, and anyone They may infect after the show do the right thing and cancel all shows that are currently scheduled over the next four weeks!
  2. So, now that the State of Mass has declared a state of emergency, I’m certain a ‘force majuere’ situation will be invoked, and insurance will cover your cancellation fees. therefore, we can expect you to finally do the right thing and cancel this convention, right?
  3. Thus far, this feature has enabled a new opportunity to receive lowball bids. i.e. $100 bid on a $200 book. another example is $110 on a $329 book.
  4. I think its time you give up the charade. I read your articles and they are all reactive, post-auction 'estimates' rather than predictive. your info isn't valuable at all.
  5. Scenario 1. If you win, you will be happy Scenario 2. If you win, you will not be as happy
  6. Even more incredible art added to the upcoming HA Signature Auction, including a killer Ditko Hulk 6 battle page, a Brunner Marvel Premiere (Dr Strange) cover, Romita Sr ASM splash ("The Horns of the Rhino"), all in the 'Miscellaneous' section. Also added yesterday, a Miller Dark Knight page, Johnny Craig Vault of Horror cover, and several Robert Crumb pieces. Bidding starts in exactly one month so the deadline to consign for this auction should be coming to a close sometime this week, and with only ~120 lots, perhaps bidding will be fierce as there are less pieces to distract potential bidders? Very interested to see how this plays out. Thoughts? D-I-C-K O, feel free to include your price guestimates here, before the auction begins.
  7. The 180K reserve was not met so the piece didn’t sell at auction
  8. Interesting choice. As a kid, I enjoyed watching their cartoon re-reruns, and the first live action movie was...tolerable, the second one not so much. But since then, they've really dropped off of people's radar and its been very, very quiet regarding new product or any news that would make folks clamour for Flintstone back-issues...that's 20 years of virtual silence for a once-mighty franchise. Additionally, the 1st Flintstones comic was part of a large warehouse find which included many high grade copies so that's also kept a damper on price. If you like the Flintstones and want to complete a high grade run, its fairly inexpensive, and much easier to achieve than Scooby Doo, but Scooby Doo is just starting to get the recognition it deserves, being on the forefront of Gold Key's (and Marvel, DC, etc) most viable properties over the past 50 years, and it still has a long way to go to hit its true place/pricing in the market
  9. Well, it may end up “reserve not met”, just like some of the more aspirational pieces in the Winter HA auction. Talk about streeeeetch pricing. Yeesh!
  10. Not really...they haven’t any artwork that interests me
  11. HA just upped the ante today with some great additions to their Spring Signature Auctions, including Ditko, Frazetta, Bolland, Wood, and several more!
  12. https://www.ebay.com/itm/COMIC-BOOK-MARKETPLACE-24-SPIDERMAN-Issue/303117246507?hash=item469332202b:g:LAkAAOSwJnBcpoS3
  13. Just curious to see if anyone has a copy of Comic Book Marketplace #24 (Gemstone publishing) to compare their cover feature story of "Spider-Man #1-50 The Rarity & The Demand", just to see where ASM #11 ranked against the other early issues 25 years ago?
  14. Meh, not necessarily. Because BA and CA books are more recent, and benefitted from the availability of comic supplies to preserve condition (bags, boards) + knowledge of rising prices/storage conditions, I expect far more copies were better preserved than SA, and SHOULD have white pages, versus Silver Age books. So for the aforementioned reasons, I think less collectors are inclined to seek out SA books with ONLY white pages.
  15. From what I can recall, this will be the 3rd time it’s up for auction. it sold on HA is 2016 for $6.6K
  16. Really? If you truly and honestly expected the ASM 340 cover to go for $50K, I'd like to hire you as my OA consigliare, to provide insight and guidance on OA purchases because information such as this is valuable.
  17. The one in the upcoming CLINK is far inferior to the one that just sold on HA. Its like comparing apples to oranges.
  18. Congrats to the new owner of the Bagley ASM splash page...ya got it for a steal!
  19. Roy, what happened with Byrne's style on FF 232 & several issues onward, is that he penciled AND inked his own interiors on the title (Austin inked the covers), hence the root cause of the stuff that drove you crazy.
  20. I have already stated I would pay $50K for it.
  21. Who was expecting $50K on the ASM 340 cover? That cover has been shopped around like a hot grenade for several years. I was expecting in the neighbourhood of $30K
