  2. I’ve been to many, many shows over the decades I’ve collected comics and comic art, but this was the very first Baltimore show for me and I thought it was great! if you’re a ‘value’ collector looking to score on a limited budget, this show had many $15-$20 in high grade for only $3-$5. if you’re looking to score some cool books for ‘pressing up’, likewise there were numerous books under $10 that can be pressed to 9.8 and sold for $150-$300 with a bit of time and effort. higher end books - many of the larger dealers I spoke with were happy to inform me that they lowered their prices earlier this year and that’s great. Based on the Silver and Bronze Age books I looked at, o would recommend another price reduction due to continued decrease in data points. I think the challenge in doing so is that some dealers have too much into the books to re-price downward and I totally get that. Charity art auction - this was awesome. Hope everyone has a chance to participate at sometime. It seemed as though 60% of the pieces were sold via proxy bids instead of going to attendees at the auction floor. original artwork - managed to pick up a few cool pieces from Garcia Lopez, Garney and Joe Prado. Arranged some commissions from Tom Raney, Kevin Maguire and David Mack. Can’t wait to see how they turn out food/dining experience- lots of choices within a 5-block radius from the convention centre. Most of the sit-down restaurants (ie NOT Jimmy John’s, Subway, etc) were overpriced/expensive and take a toll on your budget so plan accordingly. Safety- I live in a big city and I’ve been to shows in the major metropolitan areas along the East Coast so I do not say this lightly, but I did not feel safe in the downtown Baltimore area at night. It is not a place you want to be alone walking in the dark final thought: a highly enjoyable show, easy to get to, with lots and lots of comics from local and National dealers. Another positive is the aisles weren’t clogged by an over-abundance of cosplayers or fans with carts carrying long boxes of books. Will be back next year, schedule permitting 👍🏻
  3. Highlight of the charity auction…Walter pimping his own contribution. went for $20K!!!
  4. Thanks…,that’s a very telling reserve considering it sold recently for $63K on HA. after sales tax and shipping on the HA purchase, and after clinks 10% commission on the $70K, the seller would have taken a small hit
  5. What was the reserve price on clink?
  6. Can’t speak to the DD splash or the Peppermint Patty strip, but I thought the Romita Spidey cover wasn’t a very strong price at all. It ended exactly where it should. the Sal Buscema Nova page wasn’t on the high side at all. In fact, it underperformed
  7. Overall, prices for the majority of items were soft…a good buying opportunity for those into Bagley and J Scott Campbell art…prices were very soft on these items. the Art Adams Nightcrawler cover and Batgirl were also particularly poor performers. the McSpidey half-splash at $51K … on the one hand, seemed kinda light for a half splash, but it featured d-level villains. Yet it had a great ‘discombobulated hips’ Spidey middle panel. I was expecting $50K at the very low end, $75K at the upper end. also noticed a lot more items than usual with reserve prices. Perhaps a hedge against another unscheduled shutdown? Decreased confidence in Clink’s performance? A weakening market? Thoughts?
  8. There was also this page, sold back in 2018 for 3.3K
  9. I think her movie will be delayed due to the writer’s strike, but it’s definitely in the works. regardless, even if the movie is a flop and we never see her on the big screen or small screen, ASM 210 will always be worth more than prior to the movie hype. That’s just the way things go. so again, I think 216 has some room to break out from surrounding issues

  11. Recently, I noticed just how many ASM issues in the late 100's and early 200's have broken from the pack in the OPG and are now commanding more than surrounding issues. It's a pretty incredible list of books and it got me to thinking about some of the other issues that may need to break out from the Bronze Age pack. I'd like to share my list, and I hope you will share yours. My top 3 as follows: ASM 204/205. The 3rd and 4th appearances of the Black Cat, with 205 being the 1st Romita Jr art on the title, I believe. Overstreet lists them at $20 each in NM- 9.2. By comparison, ASM 226/227 feature the return of the Black Cat and list for nearly double, $38 each. Why? the stories in 204/205 and just as good as 226/227 and they are available in equal quantities. Most recent GPA sales for ASM 204/205 in 9.8 is $400 and $275, respectively. By comparison, most recent GPA sales for ASM 226/227 in 9.8 is $190 and $158, respectfully. All sales occurred within the past two months. Similar results where sales for ASM 204/205 in 9.2 fetched more than ASM 226/227 can be found on GPA. ASM Annual 13. While there is usually less interest from collectors for annuals, there is no doubt that ASM Annual 13 needs to break out from its current grouping of ASM Ann 11-13 = $28 in OPG. Annual 11 really has nothing going for it, while Annual 12 is a reprint of ASM 119 and 120. However, ASM Ann 13 contains a killer, brand-new Spidey vs Doc Ock story illustrated by Byrne and Austin at their peak (same time they were on their ground-breaking Uncanny X-Men run), its the first time Spidey rips out one of Doc Ock's tentacles from his body, and its part 1 of a two part story that concludes in Spec Spidey Annual #1. Not as easy to find in high grade as it used to be. ASM 216. With Madam Web's recent rise to fame in the Spider-verse, we've seen her 1st appearance in ASM #210 sky rocket in price, and its safe to say that she'll be a fixture in the Spider-verse for a while longer. So ASM #210 may have already become unaffordable to some, but her second appearance, in ASM 216, should still be affordable...for now. Thoughts?
  12. Yup. we agree to disagree and there's nothing wrong with that.
  13. Respectfully , I disagree. There are still folks such as myself who refuse to purchase (let alone bid on) a Miller DD page that hasn’t been touched by Miller. case in point, the most recent sale of a Janson DD page from Miller’s run sold for $21.6K, with lots of DD and Black Widow content. You telling me this wouldn’t hit (conservatively) $75K if Miller had done the pencils? $21K vs $75K is a significant difference in my opinion.
  14. Thrill of the hunt was fun for a while...until it wasn't. Switched over to collecting OA nearly twenty years ago perhaps because it was the one-of-a-kind thrill that you could get moreso with OA than comics? However, as the price of OA has become prohibitive, I find myself switching back to collecting comics, and this time I just text or call some well known dealers and ask them if they have anything from my want list.
  15. Looks like they went live a few days early because bidding is now open.
