  1. “More significant” is a debatable qualifier that changes over the course of time. in the late 80’s/early 90’s, everyone wanted a Showcase 4 because historically, it was the 1st Silver Age book (even though there was minor rumblings surrounding Tec 225 and even Superman’s Pal and Superman’s GF). Flash forward (pun intended) 30 years, and the historical significance has waned for a lot of olds timers and newer Silver Age collectors…it’s more about demand and in that regard, demand for X-Men 1 continues to increase, while Showcase 4 continues to receive a ‘pity price bump’ for several years. it’s just the way things go, and it’s not limited to Silver Age. Recall when Marvel Comics 1 was the most valuable GA book? Or Tec 27? Same circumstances/changes have been seen with Bronze and Copper books. Showcase 4 had its moment in the Sun, but its appeal has faded. Won’t be too long before ASM 1 overtakes it’s spot in the OPG Top 50.
  2. His, all does anyone have the new Top 20 Bronze Age books per the new OPG they can share?
  3. Hi, all just wondering if someone can share the new atop 50 most valuable Silver Age books per the new Overstreet?
  4. Definitely something at play during yesterday’s auction as most of my Xmen consignments sold for a 50% discount, and the Luke Ross captain America page sold for an underwhelming $18.
  5. Just a quick reminder that All auctions are ending tonight (except the Romita Jr) beginning at 7PM Eastern time. Many pieces are still well below FMV so here’s a great opportunity to pick up some nice artwork without breaking your wallet 👍🏻
  6. In your OP, you mentioned that you purchased it from a very credible dealer. if so, ask them for a refund or credit
  7. Never mind…found an old thread about this book. Apparently 500 “Bob Kane Batman” and 500 Bob Kane Joker” illos were done for the ultra-deluxe edition of this book. maybe compare some of these to the Illo you purchased?
  8. To coincide with the release of the 1989 Batman movie, there was a “Batman and Me” book focused on Bob’s lifelong relationship with the character. I don’t want to get into a discussion about his taking credit for creating Batman, the Joker, etc. however, I do recall there were multiple versions of the book, including a regular hardcover and a signed limited edition (I think it was limited to 2,500 copies?) Does anyone know if there was a more exclusive printing containing an original “Bob Kane” Batman Illo?
  9. I can still find RONIN 1-5 in high grade in the $5 bins. #6 always goes for more, but well worth the search to complete this great series. Black Dragon mini-series by Claremont and Bolton. Great storyline, stunning artwork, and every issue is $5 or less in NM/M Miller/Romita Jr/Williamson Daredevil Man Without Fear mini-series. The definitive Origin story of DD and Elektra, with gorgeous art and truly a bargain at $5 or less per issue in NM/M
