  3. Hi, all: Canada’s largest internet service provider is currently experiencing outages across country, including where I reside. I do not have internet connectivity, but I hopped onto my local Starbucks to inform you that my sale may not start at noon as originally planned. if you don’t see an update on my CAF at noon and/or a posting from me here, that means I still don’t have internet access and will reschedule the start of my sale. apologies in advance if the reschedule needs to happen.
  4. Thanks for the reminder to include the link to my CAF gallery...see item 9 above in bold font...can't believe I forgot to add it

  6. Hulk did...its all sorted out. So again, I say, Hulk Smash!
  7. I hear you, but that's just the number of raw copies available. There was at least a few dozen slabbed copies, too.
  8. I've received several DM's for additional information so just to be fair to everyone, I'm posting further details here. 1. I've determined that I need to make more pieces available in order to hit my target fundraising goal so I'll also be offering Ditko, Keown, McFarlane and Starlin pieces 2. Most of the artwork will be from comic books, with a few comic strip pieces 3. Characters/titles included are: ASM, Spidey, Captain America, Carnage, Fantastic Four, Hulk, X-men & related titles. 4. I'll be listing between 15-18 pieces in total, with several DPS's and multiple cover formats 5. Prices will range from $1K up to $175K (yup, that's a mighty huge range) 6. I'll provide more information on Thursday about rules, time payments, payment methods, and start time for the sale Thanks for your interest thus far...speak Thursday
  9. Bruh, you been on vacation for six months? ’cause that’s how long it’s been since this book has averaged anywhere near $2K. been averaging $1.5K for several months and it’s already slipping below that amount.
  10. Looks like Mike Grell stopped by his booth to chat.
  11. Hi, all: I'm looking to raise funds for a major purchase so I'll be opening the vaults for a short time next week to make some artwork for sale. Once I raise the amount I need, I will end the sale. Although I'm still thinking about adding more pieces for sale, there will definitely be artwork by Bagley/Byrne/Romita Jr/Williamson and others. Sale will start on Friday, July 8th and all items will be priced...none of this "make an offer" BS.
  12. You’re now the 6th person I’ve heard of That picked up Covid at Heroscon. just out of curiosity, did you fly in?
  13. Nice to meet you and Nick at the show. hope you feel better soon!
  14. I dunno, I’m thinking that when the creator is at their booth, it’s for signing something, maybe a quick photo op or hawking some of their recent work. Just to keep lines moving. panels are where creators could (should) tell their stories, answer questions, etc.
  15. And yet I didn’t get a single signature from Claremont or anyone else at the show. I was in artists alley helping at my friends’ booth the entire weekend. I was directly across from his line and had several people come from Claremont’s line to share their experiences with me. perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick to judge others the next time you post.

    .

I’m not saying that at all and it’s becoming quite frustrating having to reply to folks ‘interpretation’ of what I said.

    .

I didn’t say that all OA collectors were men. I merely stated that there were only a handful at the booth I worked at this weekend whether cosplayers or casual flipping through boxes of comics results in the next gen of OA collectors is difficult to confirm. im certain there are female collectors out there, but they probably represent under 5% of the OA collectors, give it take a few %?

    .

Race, I’m all for progress and improvements, but I spent 22 hrs at my friends’ OA booth this past weekend at HeroesCon, and I counted a grand total of 3 females looking at the OA. We were very busy throughout the entire show. The 3 females didn’t purchase any OA or signed prints Perhaps it’s different at other venues or online shows? Do the online shows have a lot of female viewers? Have they purchased any OA from these claim shows?
  19. Agreed. That piece he was working on (Captain Marvel, with small image of Spidey) sold at the charity auction for over $5K!
  20. I suppose that would depend on your objectives at the show and whether you ca/want to allocate that much time to wait in line. is it worthwhile to wait 80 minutes in line for Claremont to tell you a two-five minute story which may or may not be related to anything that interests you? What is the opportunity cost of standing in his line for so long (other sigs, comic books that you missed out purchasing, original art purchases, commission sketch lists, etc)
  21. The one thing to note for future reference for anyone wanting a Claremont signature…he has a story for everything and anything so you’ll have to grin and bear it for 1-5 minutes just to get his damn signature. oh, and if you bring him OA to sign, especially Byrne X-Men pages, he’ll stare at the page for a minute or two and reminisce about the good old days when writers used to receive 2 pages of OA per story from the Marvel art returns dept. the aforementioned results in a highly inflated lineup for Claremont and a lot of pissed off fans who have to wait an hour+ just to get a sig or two.
  22. Went to HerosCon this weekend and I was amazed for two reasons: 1. The sheer number of raw copies available at the show was just incredible, with 37 copies available 2. The prices were equally mind-blowing with many examples of dealers asking slabbed 9.4 prices for raw 9.2s Sure, there was a bit of wiggle room when I showed interest in the book, but not enough for me to pull the trigger. I did see a few slabbed 9.8's. One was a 9.4 in a 9.8 slab and the dealer wanted $5K. The other was a true 9.8 with a price tag of $6.5K. After much hemming and hawing, I decided to spend my money on original comic art. this is the 1st convention I attended since the start of covid and I'd like to know if others have had a similar experience?
