Its a great piece and I was the consignor. I purchased it April because I thought its a fantastic rendering of the team, and Art's hyper-detail is really incredible on this piece. I am aware of the licensing/limbo and was willing to wait it out for up to 5 years. But (and you knew there was going to be a but...) once I saw the McSpidey #16 OA for sale, I knew I had to sell some things to raise funds. I wanted the McCover and the McDPS, but it wasn't meant to be. I tried to win some other great artwork at this auction but was the underbidder on several pieces. Overall, I wasn't expecting to make money on this sale and I'm 'OK' with losing $1K or thereabouts given the circumstances. After all, it could have been a lot worse, right?

Contrary to some previous posts, there were several bargains in this auction. I won't present a comprehensive list, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the Larsen Spiderman 21 DPS which sold for just under $11K. I am no fan of Larsen's work, but based on comparable sales, I think most would agree this went for a discount of approximately $30K. Anyone else want to chime in on other bargains from this auction?

All of my listings end up as bargains. I'll let you know of my consignments for the next auction so you can pick up some good art cheap.

Glad to see the Miller DKR cover sold for only $2.4M. As I stated previously, I think all 4 covers from the series aren’t very good, and this one, though an iconic image, has very little going for it artistically.

Lost out on the Perez Beatles, after pushing it from $18K all the way up to $54K. Was also the underbidder on the Miller Ronin page. 0 for 2 this auction.

Thus far, I think we’ve already seen a few deals on Platinum Day, which is quite shocking considering that we thought the market was still on fire?!?
