  1. I think you may be confusing their monthly auctions vs their quarterly auctions. I believe the last clink quarterly auction had 6 pages of listings. A few years ago, they would often have 8 or 9 pages.
  2. Adams and Adams for me...and its not even close!
  3. Aside from buying a handful of books from you and Jimmy, this show is a dud for books. heck, the fella selling homemade salami and pepperoni does better business than the majority of comic dealers at this show.
  4. would like to go to this show, but they spent all of their money on wrestling guests instead of comic book guests.

  6. This auction is gonna be epic! I love the amount of killer pieces coming from black hole collections, even though I can’t afford most of it…it’s nice to see these pieces exist
  7. Scott must have been very busy yesterday with the CGC in-house signing (Lee/Williams/Sinclair). I can only imagine how many thousands of books he had to sign!
  8. Prior to this past 18 months, I would have said it’s a $3K page. In today’s market, $20K is a crazy price to me. No Batman, no action, no Bane in costume.
  9. When I think of a Baseball player comparison for Sal Buscema, only one name comes to mind...Eddie Murray. I'll post the reasons/accolades from Wiki here, along with his stats. Why Eddie Murray? Because he was so consistently good for so long that its difficult to identify a good year vs a bad year. Time and time again, he delivered the goods. One major difference between the two: Sal was always a friendly, outgoing fellow, whereas Eddie was the opposite. Edward Clarence Murray (born February 24, 1956), nicknamed "Steady Eddie," is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman and designated hitter. Spending most of his MLB career with the Baltimore Orioles, he ranks fourth in team history in both games played and hits. Though Murray never won a Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, he finished in the top ten in MVP voting several times. He recorded more runs batted in (996) in the 1980s than any other player. After his playing career, Murray coached for the Orioles, Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Dodgers. 10. No, his cheques certainly weren’t as high as they were from Spawn, but in addition to his page rate, he made bank on the sales incentives for selling above and beyond x number of copies per issue.
  11. I get it, but Todd was making stoopid $$$ per issue of McSpidey back then...you really think he did a full issue of splashes (maybe $700 each at the time) and DPS's (perhaps $1.5K each) cause he was thinking only about bank? It would be peanuts for him.

  13. Steranko used double pages splashes to great effect in the 1960's while working at Marvel, including several in Strange Tales. I don't think he was about OA values back then so much as design. So, perhaps its a McTip of the hat to Steranko's consecutive double page splashes in Strange Tales #
