This is one of the reasons I don't want to get a golden or silver age comic - I'd want to display it all the time and the fear of gravity damaging the bottom edge and\or spine would drive me nuts!

You're missing out man! GA books have some amazing art! Just make a scan and print a high grade copy. Frame it and be done with it.

I'm late to this, but +1 to storing on the spine.  Basically, when stored vertically, i'm afraid that gravity will pull the interior pages away from the spine over time.  When stored horizontally, the book sits comfortably on the spine preventing such damage.  But then again, my slabs are all tucked away in cardboard boxes so i'm not looking at them every day (or even every month).  I have considered UV framing or some such to display some books, but at this time it's not worth the additional financial cost.

I'm planning to take my high res scans to a printing co and then have them framed. (thumbsu

Yea I see the 914M2 is 9 x 14 1/4 - I use the BCW graded Mylars which are 9 x 14 1/4 as well. There should be one out there that's either the same height or slightly shorter than the slab so that only the flap is going over the slab neatly. I'll have to research this, because when you fold over the flap and some of the body of the Mylar, it gets all crumpled and like you said you have to do it a few times.

haha yeah it does tend to get a bit crumpled up. Let me know what you uncover as now I'm curious.

Question, since you're using the Mylar with the flaps, do you also have to bend the flap over and a little bit of the body of the Mylar over the slab? For example I find the slab is a little shorter then the actual body (excluding the flap) of the Mylar.

    I use 914M2 from E.Gerber.

Yep! I try to make sure it's folded over neatly. Sometimes I get too OCD and end up doing it a few times. xD

Change your Preview Resolution to 72 dpi.  The Preview will be much quicker.

I don't think my scanner likes it that low. It sounds like it's freaking out and the scan blows up (size wise)

Im not a fan of how the back cover looks like it has a pink/brown tinge to it with those settings. The front looks better the back looks putrid

I have the same issue with the back as well. For the back, I change to auto levels and it seems to bring the natural tone out.
