Hard to say for sure, but here are the ones that I think could be contenders (from highest to lowest)
- Killing Joke #NN
- Uncanny X-Men #141
- Dark Knight #1
- Uncanny X-Men #137
- Turtles #1
- Secret Wars #8
- DD #181
- Hulk #340
- Wolverine #1 (Limited Series)
- Thor #337
- ASM #252
- ASM #328
- DD #168
- New Mutants #98
- Captain America Annual #8
- Secret Wars #1
- Punisher #1 (Limited Series)
- ASM #316
- Iron Man #128
I'm going to leave out Uncanny X-Men #275, X-Men #1 and Spider-Man #1 since I'd consider those Modern. Also, I left out Uncanny X-Men #268 as it sold for $300k in 2020 (and also borders on Modern). Not sure it'd break $1M two years later despite market appreciation.
Very interesting picks🤔
I'm doubtful about Thor 337 as it's only beta ray bill, no Thor, if memory serves me correctly?
Completely forgot about X-Men 137, 141- and DD 168...definitely very strong contenders, agreed.
X-Men 142 is possible? Death of wolvie?
Crisis 7 sure is iconic as is X-Men 136 but I think X-Men 136 would have a better chance at $1 million

I haven't heard of any connection between the Woos.
In any case, the cover was sold to The Vacuum (a.k.a. CAF member J L) many years ago at this point.
Why is he called the Vacuum??

Dark knight 2?
DD 181
DD 188 .....possibly

Would love to hear people's thoughts.

TMNT 1
Spidey 252

Hulk 340 cover owner Brian woo is not related to the comic collector magic woo who got a " from the collection of magic woo" label on his CBCS books is he?

Unbelievable but believable if you know what I mean.

Unless there's been an accident, you can safely assume that all post-SA OA (covers and interiors) exists.
This is really good to know👍

$750K is low for the Hulk 340 cover.
hulk 340 page getting more than any other single McFarlane page is highly unlikely
JJJ, what do you think is current market value for the hulk 340 cover?
-
Just found hulk 340 cover OA on CAF!
According to the poster TM gave the cover to Peter David , Florida dealer acquires it from David , bill woo acquires it from dealer.
It's a great detailed cover, iconic cover imo
Great to know it exists🙂
I think a $750k price is realistic if it came to auction.....and probably higher

New mutants 98 ,2 liefeld pages with first appearances Deadpool .
The McFarlane hulk 340 hulk v wolverine page will bring a record price I think for a single McFarlane page.
Is the cover OA FOR hulk 340 known to exist?

With no skin in the game, these look like they were done by an amateur to me. The spiderman, in particular, looks very rushed. Is the uneven color of the bricks intentional?
Qft! Re the Spidey cover, amateurish is an accurate description

I actually like both of these (the FF cover art isn't as bad as many people are saying it is, either, in my opinion) and, while I don't think they're worth $60K each, if I had the cash, maybe I would buy one just to own a Frank Miller cover (nope, I do not own one). I do think the prices are high, but these may be the only "affordable" Frank Miller covers for awhile. I agree that Miller's art isn't what we all loved on Daredevil and Dark Knight, but he's older now and his style has changed over the years. He is still Frank Miller, though, and that name still carries a lot of weight and value.
I can remember when a dealer told me variant covers aren't worth nearly what the main covers are worth. It wasn't Glen, though, so I'm not bashing him. But, that does prove the changing dynamics in the comic art hobby and how dealers are now selling variant covers and collectors are buying them just the same as the main covers.
Yeah I think the DD cover is not bad actually. Yes, $60 K for a Miller cover today is relatively cheap given hulk 163 sold for $90k around 2018 I think .

Listed October 1 2022 by panel page art, each asking $60k
I must say these covers look much better than the ff1 cover but imo miller's art has regressed.
DD AND Spidey just look way too chunky🤷

If you have to ask, then I think it's really time that you saw an eye doctor.
So folks think the cap 1 liefeld cover is ok?
To me it's not bad.
How did the captain chest image get past the editors to be published?

Spare us the exposure of that blight to our eyes and just do a search for Liefeld Captain America on Google.
Is the image mentioned the pregnant Cap / big chest Cap?
Not the cover to Cap 1 which isn't that bad imo
