SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING starring Tom Holland (7/28/17)
Artboy99 replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
it is certainly how a lot of film making seems. I dare to say it: "MJ" in the Homecoming film was meant to be Mary Jane Watson. BUT: somehow after the film was done something happened that now required the change or back peddling so that now Zendaya isn't the Mary Jane Watson of the Spider-man comics in future films. Who knows what it was, but it is why we now have articles/ interviews that say "No no, she isn't Mary Jane Watson." Yeah whatever. I know better. -

= it was a terrible idea. -
I think it is likely, I had a CGC 7.5 House of Secrets 92 that had the notation "Bernie Wrightson written on first page in pen."

BCW mylar magazine bags don't fit in the magazine boxes?
Artboy99 replied to phtmEVENstrngr's topic in Comic Magazines
Yes that box is from the Collection Drawer Company. They are hard to find here in Canada but I have managed to acquire enough that I converted my collection to them and I am happy I did. They are very sturdy, and have enough room inside for what I need. I have about 10 Magazine sized Drawer short boxes, and the 25 others are Comic sized which will easily fit Silver age and up. I have several of my Golden Age books in supergolden mylite 2's with fullback boards and those need to go into Magazine sized drawers. The absolute number one feature that I love about the drawer box system is that I have access to any and all of my books easily by simply pulling the interior box from the shell. The shell is sturdy and supports the weight of other boxes on top of them without the interior box easily. They are more expensive, but to me the convenience of access is very much worth it. I ordered plastic stick back pouches that I stuck on the box fronts and I can take out whatever label card I have made. If they have a negative, it can be a little difficult to get the box all the way out of the shell. Putting the box back into the shell is a little easier unless it is heavy due to being full of books and can be more difficult due to the weight of the box. -
I met him at the Calgary Expo a few years ago. Definitely a character. I picked up this book from the first piece of his collection offered. Gave it to a friend for his birthday.

BCW mylar magazine bags don't fit in the magazine boxes?

I use a magazine sized drawer box for my magazines. The 4 mil mylars do fit. I also have room along the side for a CGC magazine sized slab. Hope this helps. -

I added one of them to my Conan magazine collection as well. Not cheating. -

a perfect example of a VG 4.0

I am at a 4.0 Can't call a book with rusty staples and in that grade range a fine.

The Chamber of Chills books are another great example of the run up. I paid $200 for a Chamber of Chills 23 in April 2015 that was about a 5.0. Now that is a $1500 (??) book.

It is a trend I have been noticing for about 2 years now. Prices running up on classic GA covers. My copy:

Yeah you always seem to have a sales thread going. Then you are a "thrill of the hunt" collector? -

Wonder Woman official movie thread (6/23/17)
Artboy99 replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I really like the music, it reminds me of the battle music from the movie 300. The instrument in her theme song is an electric cello and I love how it sounds but I understand that it isn't for everyone. It does get more "regal" at a later stage in the song in my opinion. I agree, I absolutely loved the way she moved and they way she fought. She took off Doomsday's arm with a swing of her sword. Definitely raised and trained as a warrior. -

Gal won me over in BvS when she first appeared with her armbands stopping the blast beam ( ugh) from the creature they called Doomsday. Then the warrior theme music plays and she draws her sword and lept into battle. It was fantastic. And everytime she was on screen from that moment forward it just "lights up" for me. -
I love the painting on the cover, it is fantastic! I will read the story

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING starring Tom Holland (7/28/17)
Artboy99 replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Staying at home is more comfortable as well. I find the seats at theaters are uncomfortable after awhile. At home I don't have to deal with obnoxious other people who wear to much cologne/ perfume (which causes some breathing issues for me), aholes that check their cellphone during the film, talk loudly, get up far to frequently, etc. -
Mike commissioned a page of art from me. Paid fully in advance. Great to deal with. Thanks!
